A 16" Pro comp steel wheel that fits

Methods are relatively inexpensive for aluminium wheels, and readily available so replacement is easy and quick. I also got the warranty from 4wp

 

You go with 16 or 17 in methods?

 

16" cause 35s are expensive and mine are still like 60%

 

After reading this thread again and your build thread which is awesome btw, went to undergrad in Bellingham wa and miss my BC adventures at red mountain and those areas, people are nice and great scenery!

About the pro comps....4wheel parts told me that the steel aftermarket ones for sure need spacers and often have had balancing issues, I’m getting my allow ones on Monday so will report back on my findings. They keep assuring me caliper clearance and no fuckery. We will see!!

 

Will update with pics later but got the procomp 7069 installed and they just clear the caliper by roughly “four credit cards”. Wheels look great and are ready for fat meats to go on. Will post pics later

 

I have also ordered a set of 69 series for my 3rd gen. Hope the clear the caliper!

You get 17s? Seems like 17s have more universal fit for our trucks and less rub issues

 

16s. I know 17s are a better fit, but I just installed new rubbers after selling my stockers to a customer of mine.

If I did 17s I'd want a big tire. Then lose more acceleration & mpg. Then have to lift, gotta keep the mod bug on a budget!

So stuck on the 16s for now

 

Sounds solid! I went with 16s cause I would rather have more tire then rim for when I hopefully score some Black Friday deals on some 285s.

Hey there, I know this thread is old but will these clear a 2012 2nd gen too?

 

I would think so since we both got second gens, give 4wheel parts a ring as well

 

Old thread, I know but did you end up getting these Pro Comp 69 series wheels? Are they on 265/75r/16 size tires? I'm planning on getting these too but wanted to see if there were pics of them on same tire size and if they cleared the calipers

 

While I can’t speak to the steel ones you refer to but the 7069 procomp alloys that I got in 16in just clear the calipers, can barely fit two business cards between them which while they function well for getting the offset I need I wonder about selling them to just get some methods which I know will clear. I worry that if they bend or warp in any way possible I’m toast.With that said though 17s give you more rim options that for sure clear. I’m a fan of buy once cry once but may need to heed my own advice for these wheels. Just my two cents

Caliper clearance is very close, but no issues.

Thanks buddy! I think the only thing they need is a coat of paint, the flat black looks meh.. Still not bad for less then $400 shipped

 

Procomp does not offer any steel wheels that fit the Tacomas. No Procomp steel wheel will fit the Tacoma because the brake caliper will hit the inside of the spokes on the wheel. Not to mention, why would you put steel wheels on a newer tacoma? The stock wheels are better than a steelie. After putting steel wheels on a tacoma you'll lose half of your ball joint life along with wheel bearing life. The wheels are literally twice as heavy.

There is no procomp steel wheel that fits.
The 7069 alloy wheel does fit. But caliper clearance is close.

Just adding bits and pieces to this thread for future info for those who search. When I was searching about 7069 alloy clearing the caliper info wasn't very clear.
