I haven't tried the MA tune and probably wont. I have run nothing but 91 in my truck since I ran out the free tank the dealer threw in at purchase. I wanted a more aggressive tune anyway and that is what got me to purchase the OVTune in the first place. I am hoping that Mat can get even more HP and torque out of these trucks with the data from the logs we provided. I will still be one of the first in line for a custom tune when that time arrives since I have mods and weight

Has anyone ever done a 0-60 timed run with the stock tune and then the OV tune? I'm thinking there is very little difference if any at all. I do believe that the OV tune does enhance driveability.

yup. I'll be going the custom tuning as well when the gates open. my exhaust is just screaming for it. i can still remember the days wondering if i can even keep the truck and deal with the original awful drive experience especially in first & second. nowadays i let out the clutch in first and it snaps me back in my seat. kind of amazing, and i do agree there seems to be more in there still.

planning on doing it soon, actually tried it today but the quick & dirty version so i won't bother mentioning the numbers. I've picked out a good spot to try, just need the time.

oh and by the way there was a huge difference, because the hookup in first from idle with FO is for real. never could get any kind of launch like that before even with 1.04R, not even close... but turning that into a proper 0-60 time is another story. tricky vehicle to get good numbers obviously.

What method are you using to get the 0-60 times?

It would be sweet if someone could get out on a drag strip and get some quarter miles times.

Ditto on both counts,I still want to put a resonator on mine to tone it down a bit. I was also thinking that putting an 1" 1/2 resonator in front of the muffler to put a little "restriction" back in to"compensate for cat removal" might give me a bump in low end torque..

And don't rely on the stock speedo. With stock tire size it's out.

i'd pay $4.95 for the app but no way i'm paying $50+ for a BT OBD adapter just to have some 0-60 fun. i'd call this an "under $10 project"... any other ideas? it's looking like a quick n dirty effort so i can come back with numbers that nobody believes anyway. you know: :crapstorm:

I mean, how much difference is 22HP (and that's at redline) going to make 0-60 in a 4000lb+ vehicle with the aero of a brick lol?

My guess, maybe a second. It would interesting to see if consistant numbers between tunes could be recorded.

my curiosity came when i figured out how to hook up the power in first gear, which i could do after getting 93FO. couldn't ever do it even in 1.04R, and it's just the normal throttle/power response like you would expect. but it's hugely different for the first time. that's why i want to try if i can find the time.

So good! Hard to describe how much better the low end response is but the torque is massively improved even from idle.
Too early to say definitively, but the mileage seems better, coming from 1.04 87.
Will update when I get a few more miles on it.
