Haven't ordered them yet. Will order them along with the rear shock absorbers. The eBay guy said that a spacer which is .5" thick will lift the truck by a full inch.

My truck was purchased new by my dad in September 2009 and formally transferred to me in December 2016.

My truck was initially not covered by the frame recall, and I had to force my dealer to put it up on the lift and inspect it. My truck got a clean bill of health, but then just a few months later I found out through Carfax that a recall had been issued. I brought my truck to the same dealer, Thompson Toyota in Doylestown. My truck not only passed Toyota's frame inspection protocol, but Pennsylvania's strict state inspection as well. My truck got the rustproof coating and I got a free loaner during the day and a half or so it took to do spray the frame.

A little over a year later and it seems to have held up fine. I got a notice in the mail that my truck is eligible for frame replacement for twelve years from the date of purchase, so I can get a new frame from now through September 30th, 2021.

I would not mind getting a new frame, as I do not entirely trust the so-called "rustproofing" spray. Is there any way I can work the system and get a new frame?

My truck is a 2010 RC 5-lug auto with almost 90K miles that is in good condition aside from some dents.

You are still eligible for a frame replacement if your frame meets the requirement by the deadline you stated. Call Toyota headquarters and double check the deadline. Then have the truck inspected by Toyota as close to the deadline as possible. No way to work the system and I think Toyota is being more than fair with the warranty extensions.

I'm in a similar situation. My truck was undercoated 4 years ago and just failed the frame inspection. New frame has been ordered and will be installed in about a month. My warranty extension deadline is January 2019. So I made it just in time. Check your frame often, my frame seemed fine then deteriorated rather quickly probably due to hidden rust.

Btw, the frame is replaced for free under warranty. Anything that needs replaced in addition to the frame will be paid on your dime. Because I plan to keep this truck for as long as possible, I'm replacing about $1,000 worth of parts (suspension, AC compressor, power steering pump, etc.) during the frame swap for little to no labor charge. Search TW, lots of threads on the subject.

Take a screwdriver and a hammer. Start banging around. If you find a 10mm or larger hole take it back to the dealer for a new inspection.

I just dropped almost $1,600 getting the damn evaporator core and expansion valve replaced!

I'm not the the type to replace shit that doesn't need replacing, but maybe I should go for new suspension and exhaust?

I'm ashamed to ask this, as I should know the answer; Do perforations qualify? Thank you.

I also got notice of the warranty extension on my 2010. I love the truck, I hope it lasts forever. I did get the CRC coating and it's holding up well. I think my frame is good to go but I will get in re-inspected sometime in 2019.

If your frame has a perforation due to rust... kinda a big deal lol
You guys act like “10mm rust hole!? No problem!” XD

Is your frame splitting apart too? There are several things that can qualify.

Do you have to get the coating if you have an inspection and it shows rust but you don’t qualify for the replacement?
