I thought my 5160s were good until i got my 8112s, now they're definitely the weak link.

I'll be solving that shortly .

5100's are basically and adjustible stock replacement. Better than stock, but not really that great.

6112's are a 2" coil over, a step up over the 5100's, typically paired with the 5160's which are a reservoir rear shock body. No experience with these, but I've heard good things on the 6112s, I have the 5160's in the rear good shock system for the money.

8112's/8110s are the cats ass. 2.5" reservoir shock in the front, have the option for different springs to accommodate bumpers etc. The 8110's are a triple bypass rear shock system.

IF I got the 8112, it would literally be to show off. 6112 is underrated imo.

I would have went with the 6112's if they recommended the #6/#5 option for my TRD Sport Double Cab, but they don't recommend that 2" height that I was looking for and that bummed me out.

I only did the fronts so far, it way out paces my rears now. It used to be I'd smoke 5100's in the front first and the 5160s would still work. Now I smoke the 5160s and the 8112s are still kicking ass and taking names.

What’s wrong with 6/5 setting and who ever told you doesn’t know what they’re talking about. No idea why I keep hearing about this on the forums on the 6112s. I made the switch from 5/4 to 6/5. I noticed no ride difference at all. I understand people are worried about preload but seriously 2” lift is not that big of a deal....the 8112s only offer a 2” lift. BILSTIEN knows what they’re doing with heir systems.

    Cats Ass?

What terrain are you putting these through to make a 6112/5160 set up falter?

Haven't ran the 6112s, the 5100s couldn't handle more than about 30 minutes running rough roads before they would get to hot and the oil would loose pressure and rebound.

Gotcha. I can’t wait to run some new suspension. I think these 8112/8100 would be such an incredible step up from my stock Turd suspension. I’m sold on these or 6112/5160. I don’t find any of the other competitors to be desirable, considering the rebuilds, etc.

I found the stock suspension actually decent but as soon as you put weight on the truck or run it for a while like you said, you can feel the dampening just fall off and everything you hit just feels like a hitting a giant curb. It sucks.

But I’d rather put extra money towards paying off this truck, than suspension that still provides what it’s meant to do.

I appreciate the feedback on this relatively new suspension from Bilstein. Thank you :)

Buy once, cry once. (I bought twice and it cost me 50% more than what it would have cost me if I'd just bought the good shit at first)

Yea, I’d like to see a comparison too. Overall I’d say the Bilsteins take the cake. They are better for dual purpose vs ADS more oriented OffRoad.

My ADS rides pretty plush in my daily commute, plus with adjustable reservoirs I can dial in my terrain, but I still want to see what the Bilsteins feel like.
Just wish they came with the 700# spring option. That was one of the deciding factors for me and many shops charge alot more to have the switch made

They come with a factory option for them now for up to 200lbs on the bumper.

I've got them on my truck.

Uh, Bilstein's own recommendations state that for a TRD Sport Double Cab (4x2 V6, Double Cab, 5' Bed) you do not use the #6/#5 option. There is a document that states that.
