Anyone know if any of the big retailers or really anyone is having a good sale on headunits? We’re a bit picky in that we want built in nav, SiriusXM, and CarPlay (wireless preferred, not required) Pioneer/Kenwood/Sony branded. We have a pioneer in our Amazon shopping cart for $450 but curious if we can expect better sales this weekend?

Did you check out Crutchfield? Their prices are stupid cheap all year and include mounting hardware. Might even be cheaper now. Check them out fer sure.

curious at to the model that your looking at in your cart for $450? I know you said "preferred" wireless carplay but by that being a want you will not find a sony or kenwood that does that. so do you want wireless or not because that opens a lot more options.

Yeah wireless CarPlay sticks you with pioneer w4400 or w8400 or Alpine ilx-107. Maybe one or two more?

Built-in Nav and wireless CarPlay sticks you with w8400 only I believe

You’ll need an XM tuner with nearly everything unless it specifically includes the tuner (NOT just “xm ready”)

I’d stick with kenwood, pioneer, or alpine
Sony units tend to be a bit too basic for my liking (very limited controls, very few inputs, etc)

JVC has had lots of issues in the units I’ve installed over the last year or so. I’m steering clear of them right now (which is odd because they’re paired with kenwood)

I’d also be curious to know what you’ve got with Built-in Nav for $450

Nope, no steering wheel controls on a 1st gen and mine didn’t have an upgraded stereo package.

So no need for the steering wheel control adapter. Yet at least, eventually want to swap a wheel with controls buts a long ways down the road.

You really don't need Nav if you stay within cell service. I bought a Kenwood Excelon 694s for my wifes car, its been installed for 6months and neither of us have used the Navigation on it.

Happy wife, happy life. As long it had CarPlay for my mapping needs I was happy. She always has the map mode up in her car and wanted the same thing regardless if we had cell coverage or not, thus we needed built in nav.

This one doesn't have Nav, but its probably the biggest bang for your buck.

This is probably the cheapest you'll ever see it, way below what I can get if for from an authorized kenwood distributor.

Only issue with buying from Amazon is the warranty. Excelon carries a 2yr warranty, but who's going to honor it?
