    So with an automatic you have to be stopped to shift between 4hi and 4low? I guess you could put it in neutral while moving, shift the transfer case, and put it back in gear, maybe. I have a manual transmission with the J-shifter transfer case. I shift from 4low to 4hi on the fly all the time. It goes in easier if I double clutch, but even if I don't it will shift. I can shift from 4hi to 4low on the fly but it's hard to get the rpm's right, plus it's pretty rare that I would even want to do that. But shifting from 4low to 4hi I do while moving all the time. Get through a rough spot and want to speed up, no need to stop, handy. Sounds like you can't do that, at least easily, with an automatic. Interesting.

    Flare-less (IMO, it only looks good with a wide setup) Slings so much crap on the truck tho. Doesn't bug me, just have to keep the windows rolled up or my son ends up with his face covered in mud. lol

    That's not mud. That's just going down a dirty road. It's not mud until you have clods the size of softballs on the roof of the cab. Oh, buy-the-way I hate mud. I deal with it more than I'd like, but I still hate it.

    It seems like the question is "Flares or Holes". I have often considered removing the flares but then I see a truck with the exposed holes and say naw.

    My vote is for flares.

    But that’s based on my experience, which is on 315s with 1” spacers. I ran without them after I tubbed the firewall and liked the looks of it a lot, but all it took for me was an encounter with bentonite clay mud near the San Rafael Swell north of Moab. The sides of the truck were covered and the top of my RTT was a mess. The bed, and consequently my gear, was plastered in mud. After getting back home, I slapped the flares on with new clips and never looked back.

    Granted, the flares still left over an inch of tread exposed, but it was a huge improvement over going without. Ultimately, though, it’s entirely your call. That red will look amazing either way.

    You could plug them with fender flare clips and cover those with flares
