ive had the same craftsmen set for about ten years. perfect carry around case

 

After using the HF Bauer portaband, I realized my cuts were always less than square. I bought this SWAG Offroad portaband table and couldn't be happier. Yes, I know I could have just made one, but I really like it... that's all that matters!

Any of yall use the Swag Offroad 20 ton press brake for the HF press? I'm needing something to bend up brackets and such in a repeatable manner instead of using a vice and mini sledge hammer. I've considered making one, but I like the idea of being able to bend past 90 for springback that they incorporated in their design.

 

I have the press brake. I like it. I would probably go with the finger brake model over the press brake now though. Just a bit more possibilities with the finger brake one.

 

I was looking at that. Seems like it’d be work the extra money. Had any issues with it?

 

Nope. But to be fair haven't really used it to much either. Just things here and there. It's bent up 1/4" just fine. I made motor mount brackets and it did the bending just fine.

I'm sure someone who uses it a lot more might have a better opinion but for me it has worked just fine

 

Gotcha. I’ll mostly be bending 3/16. Seems to be my material of choice lately.

 

I've used it for 3/16 too and it's don't great. I.more meant my bending hasn't been like any critical measurements or anything. Just bending and then cutting to length type stuff.

Will add that adding the 20ton air jack is an awesome upgrade too. When bending I'd start with air till it's close and finish with the hand portion. Same method I do with pressing bearings and stuff

 

The dude isn't maintenance. They literally just called into the crowd asking if anyone was a welder because the panel broke and they couldn't continue the game until it was fixed. Someone in the audience was a rig welder and rolled out so they could fix it quick and get on with the game. Haba

 

That's what I was looking at. I thought it was a roof top tent set up. Didn't know it was a welding rig.

How do the HF presses compare to ones from Northern Tool? The HF are less expensive, but what is their quality?

 

I haven’t had any problems with my HF 20 ton. Bought it originally for pressing bearings and seals in for automotive applications. If I had to guess, they’re built in the same factory and rebranded but that’s just a guess. I’m speaking out of my rear end on this one.

 

Where did you get it from?? I wanna buy one.
