They have the tool that lowers the spare then they raise the mount back into place to make it tougher to notice.

I'm planning on blocking the access port under the tailgate with a lock of some sort... just gotta engineer something.

I have a CBI bumper with swing out though. Just have 1 of the locking lugs so might add in 2 more different ones

Ah, you're probably reasonably good then. I think they're counting on most people not noticing the under bed location being empty.

    Because engineers?

I think it will depend on the location and how it's brought it. In my brief searching and recollection, this is one of those things covered by federal law now. If you bring it in with a working system, it has to leave with a working system. If you bring it in with a non-working system, it can leave that way. So they can't just remove working sensors (let alone disable the light) and send you on your way, but if they aren't there or working to start with, they're not required to fix it if you don't want them to. Usually the comments I see are 'didn't say anything, didn't care'. But every once in a while (for this and other things) you see a 'shop wouldn't touch it unless' story.

Depending on how old what you're replacing is though, you may just want to go ahead and spring for new universal sensors or something if you think the batteries might die before you change tires again. Or just leave them in there and let them die if you want to go that route. :D

Do you think with or without the bull bar hoop? I'm not a big fan of the larger ones that go over the grille/headlights.

It's personal preference but I actually like the headlight hoops and the hoop that follows the grille lines

I remember KBPI used to do an annual build where each decision was made by popular vote. Seems like some of the builds on TW fall into that rut too :D

All valid points, I didn't think $1260 was that expensive, most decent front bumpers I see run for around that, like Demello or C4 Fab.

    I remember that
I think kbpi still does that

If your going to copy someone’s build you may as well just wait for them to build it then buy it:D
