We have a neighborhood meeting Monday concerning the newly drawn flood maps. We already know what streets to avoid during heavy rains. You learn the hard way!

No.... would be nice if there was. there is a "flood plain" map that insurance companies use. Don't know how they figure it out though.

We are "lucky" here, the water usually drains away pretty fast.... not like the areas that flooded from the Sep or Oct :anonymous: hurricane - that stayed under water for weeks. There are a few streets here that flood pretty fast when it rains hard.

Our street flooded once in all the years we have been here. Extremely rain in spring.
The water was like 6 or 8 inches. When I had the plow truck I had Carol follow me right on my bumper about 10mph and I plowed the water and got through before the water came back in the road.

Hurrah! I took a chance on a replacement touchpad for my MacBook; it arrived today, I just finished installing it, and it works great! No more hunting around trying to find a place where 'clicking' works! :woot: Hopefully I'll get a couple more years out of it.

Repo and I will be hanging out for Thanksgiving. Or is that hanging off?
We scared up a 14" trout down at the creek last week, hanging out under the fallen Alder leaves on the creek.

    Morning all:
Was just reading two articles on the puter, one was about the recent bow and arrow killing of a man by a literally stone age tribe on an island off the coast of India, and the other was about an ion powered aircraft that just made it's maiden flight. It's amazing that there is still that much of a gap in civilization in this day and age, wonder who's actually better off in the long haul!

Good morning Susan, gang, have a nice Thanksgiving.
My rotary dial phones, computer or tablet. :) Finally some good rain out here in Kalifornia. Saw snow above me around Spanish Peak.

I'm in your 60+ group. And, I just bought my first Tacoma. I'm and old gear head who worked
    as a mechanic
at a stealership back in the mid 70's. Still change my own oil, and do 99% of my own repairs. This summer I put 2 Lower Control arms on my Avalon, and a front wheel hub and CV axel on my son's Prius.

Welcome to the thread John. Our family has a Tacoma and an Avalon. The Avalon is a nice ride.

Per Inciweb, Camp Fire here in N Kalifornia, over 13,000 homes destroyed, fire is 90% contained now. A lady at the bank in town said a cousin of hers is missing in Paradise.

Sorry to hear Duane. Apparently the number of missing is coming down, finally. I heard over 1000 a few days ago, and today I heard 890. Still a sad, scary situation.
