FJ Transfer Case/RST Dual Stick Adapter SoCal

Anyone interested in a BRAND NEW FJ transfer case with RST twin stick adapter plate? I mean brand new haha. Looking at 1200$ listed everywhere else for 1500$ this is not an eBay rebuild/refurb, it came off an FJ with less than 1k miles. Open to offers, located in Poway CA (Nothern San Diego Area) likely too heavy to ship.

 

Keep getting that same response, I’ll probably try selling on pirate or something where it’s likely to be used.

 

Oh I'd use it but 1800 is steep even if it is barely used/broken in, plus shipping it across the country where you don't have a deal set up with shippers is expensive

 

I understand the shipping but 1800 local is a good deal. An actual Toyota FJ transfer case, not an EBay refurbished or off brand, goes for like 2100+

But I’m entertaining offers as well, I think I went to 1500$ for a few days and then back up. I’d like to sell it but I’m not gonna lose on it haha

 

Must be cali prices. They are like 400 bucks with less than 50k through LKQ all day long then add a couple hundred for shipping if that. Just saying there are other places far more economically priced that are sourced all over the US. I have never seen FJ cases that high before unless they were brand new.

 

Less than a thousand miles to me is brand new. 50k may not be a lot on a Tcase and it might. Maybe someone will buy it for piece of mind or maybe someone will not and I’ll put it in the Tacoma but yes, from Toyota they are more than a few hundred bucks

I did a quick search and found some with less than 5k for under 800. If it was in a box and had never been used installed etc. then yeah it's brand new.

 

I mean that’s great and all, but either way I’m not gonna lose on it so someone will buy it or someone won’t buy it, but I did lower the price.

The case swap is not the highest thing on my priority list, but I am interested nonetheless. Do you have any experience doing the swap on a Taco?

 

Ooo. Iirc some of the internals need to be swapped out in order to fit in the tacoma, has this already been done?

 

Only if you have a manual trans, auto is a direct bolt in

 

It does not, the manual transmission does not fit but the auto just requires a few things already on your TCASE. There’s a good write up on RST about it. Super simple.

I have taken my own TCASE off and it was simple, this is a direct bolt on, so simple as well. Was going to use it to do the twin stick mod with crawl box but that will not be for some time after I move and I’m not trying to take it with me haha.

 

Do you have a picture of the RST twin stick plate? I wanna see how its set up, the difference between RST and others out there.
