Given how rusty those are I don't think there were original, the factory ones were painted black.

Those look like the Moog ones

The ones you posted have a bunch of surface rust :luvya:

It seems like he had them replaced at some point during the life of the truck and probably just forgot, especially if a bunch of other maintainence was done at the same time :burp:

    I have mods
Busy couple of days. Pulled out the nasty, 20 year old carpet and replaced it with fresh vinyl/rubber flooring from Rock Auto/ACC. 99% done with the install, just have to finish doing the storage covers for the back and attach the rings for those. Today, I had the bed LineX'd. Looks sooo much better now. I also had my tailgate protector done.

    Old and nasty.

Yeah, he's right, those aren't the truck's original LBJs there. Those are manufactured by 555, they're the ones Moog and AC Delco and others repackages and sells under their own name. They are the next best thing to the OEM LBJs, but still not close to the quality consistency like the OEMs.

The ball joints I pulled off my 97 last week sure weren't 555. They were toast, but otherwise identical to the oem set that went on the truck. As far as I know they were original.

I've always loved the stepside Tacomas.

The stepside Tundras on the other hand....

True, not very practical if you need the bed space but then again those that really need bed space aren't really springing for a compact truck to begin with. But they are harder to find toppers for that's for sure

:anonymous: I almost ended up with a F150 because of bed space

Hi lift mounted so it's not rattling around in the bed any more, wired up my light bar to a switch, replaced my CB coax and retuned my antenna, and put the mic on the dash

Nice mount. :thumbsup:I always have a fear of my hi lift punching threw the back of my cab and impaling me if I ever got into an accident on the highway.
