This is true. But to be fair, it's also true of all manufacturers now a days, sad to say.

Usually around 100,000. I haven’t done mine yet but plan on it in next couple weeks when I can get my truck to the dealer.
I’m sure that’ll cause some controversy with how long I’ve waited but it is what it is at this point.

If you drive mostly highway then why not just get a cheap little beater car that gets 30+mpg? Thats what I did, and my 2015 only has 27k on it.

If you drive 50k miles a year at 20 mpg that’s 2500 gallons of gas costing $7500.

You can buy a cheap car that gets 40mpg and save $3750 a year, that’s almost a car payment in savings.

Because some of have to go off road in our job. Some of us have to haul clients around. Some of us have to tow and haul.
To many of us, it's not a commute from point A to point B, go to a cubicle, work 8 hours and go back to point A. My work, and my hobby and my family take me all over the place.

Some people maybe in sales, delivery, construction or oilfield services where they may have to carry items. Other like me are truck guys, I won't be caught dead on a Prius. But to each his own

That does not count in my book because he replaced the engine at 800k miles due to a head gasket failure.
He may have fallen victim to the faulty 4.0 L gasket defects/issues, but i don't recall what years that covers. Either way, he was also burning 1qt of oil every 4k miles which is outstanding by Mercedes or VW standards, but not by my TOYOTA experience standards lol!

But, had he changed his oil every 5k it may have been a different story. Money wise, (cost of changing oil) it's probably an even toss though he-he!

Still. 800k in my book is great as most ppl will never get there before the body rots or the other components beat their wallets to death.

On another note, (the 1.2 million Taco owner) he says he never did anything to the transmission in the 1.2 million miles. That would be me, and a guy after my own heart. I haven't even checked my ATF level yet because it comes properly filled from the factory, and no leaks yet
