You guys that use them in the winter could put a couple oz. of RV antifreeze in them to keep them from freezing.

Yes but they fill up so incredibly fast due to all the water vapor when the engine is cold you have to drain and refill with more anti freeze every week

I've only had mine installed for the last 3000 miles or so.
Installed on the v6 with 30,000 miles.
What I have noticed since, and this might be a coincidence.
But the engine seems to idle a little smoother.

I have one on my Tacoma and my BRZ. For the Tacoma it isn't as big of a deal, I understand that the engine will easily burn what is being caught. It probably will help keep things in the intake tract a little cleaner and help prevent lowering the effective octane of the fuel injected (or so I have read and other threads elsewhere debate, I'm not up for it).

For my BRZ running a pretty high 12.5:1 compression ratio, anything to help in the octane department is good by me. It may help a little because the BRZ has D4-S injection with both port and direct injection.

This brings up direct injection, a catch can be more important here. The intake valve doesn't benefit from fuel being injected ahead of the valve in this case. Vapors can accumulate over time and create carbon buildup on the valves. A catch can in this case is probably a greater benefit.

In short, if you feel like adding a catch can, fine, if you don't like one, fine too.

You could simplify this to "I don't want to create a problem". My two cents.

I thought that when I saw a line through his name. I didn’t know what that meant, but now I do.

I don’t think anybody will be sad. He was wrapped a little different than most.

It's a shame that this played out like it did. I think everyone can add to the collective knowledge base and all benefit from it. It's when one crosses that unseen line and become belligerent or argumentative that the learning tanks....

I have had one in my 05 for some time now, never a problem. But the crap that it catches I do not want going into my intake. It has a 1/4 turn ball valve and I used a 1/4" refrigeration male flare fitting through a grommet-ed hole above the wheel.

Can't say I'm surprised or disappointed - he's been on my ignore list for a while.

    +1

Most can, but he was one of the exceptions.

This wasn't the only thread for which I added him to my Ignore list, so I suspect the ban was for general asshatery.

I know I am not a Tacoma owner, very sad to say, but I had one on my Tacoma and now one on my F150 twin turbo. Amazing what they pull out. I had a stumble in the mornings with idling and hesitations before installing this one. Was told because of where I live, high moisture, that my intercooler built up condensation in the uptake tubes. Well not no more!!!! No hesitation, rough idle, and impeovement on gas mileage. The photo above was a drive from Chicago to Mesa Az. 1500 miles one way.

Mine in my Tacoma never froze being it was inside engine compartment. It became milky at times bit never froze. I emptied weekly in the winter. Make sure you purchase an extra oring as once you unscrew the container the oring will swell. I threw my oring in freezer to shrink back down to size. Juat my 2 cents

I had an Add -1 in Tacoma. This one has a quarter turn style drain valve, which is awesome!!!!! This one is from JLT. Pretty pricey but well worth it.

I've had mine on the truck for about 6 months this is my first winter with it. I'll have to start checking it more regularly then, so far I just check it every so often and empty it when it's about half full.

I had to make a bracket to mount it so it worked with the relay bracket i made
