This is how you fit a 29er in a short bed.



2" angle mounted in the rail mount coming up over the front of the bed. Used a Rocky Mounts Driveshaft, and made the angle pieces. I made two. Now I'm set up for two bikes.

What size is your bike?
Curious because I backed out of doing a Rockymount setup cause last I read the rear tire was still too long and the tailgate needed to be open while carrying..which sucks.
That was if using the front bed rail and Rockymount rail system together as intended. What do u think?

 

Is there a rack that hangs off the side of the truck? Daughter n her bf would like to join me in a camping trip. So the bed will be full n no room on the back. Thinking about hanging them off the side if possible. Roof out. Rtt n 3 kyaks.

If the Rocky Mount was in the bedrail, my bike would not fit. That is why I used the angle piece and moved the mount towards the cab. Now I have about an inch of clearance for the rear tire. Tailgate is up.

These are not made anymore. KB VooDoo used to make them. I've used this one for a while but now I am going to switch it up. I'm selling the one I have. I tried to find two, but was only able to acquire one. Now it must go. If you are interested pm me.

I had the same issue as you do. My solution: Bay Area Metal Fab (BAMF) Bed Rack with welded tabs outboard then Yakima High Roller on each side.

Anyone have any fat wheels for sale? Or hubs spaced at 177 rear and 150 front?

 

The snow gave the trails back for a day. Crazy variable conditions ranging from perfect tacky, snow, ice, lots of mud, and water.
