I don't know how anyone affords one of these things when in school or working part time...but I guess I'd probably do a lot less wheeling with it if that were the case.

Blows my mind even more how many college kids have fully outfitted 3rd gens or T4Rs...I got help from my parents but definitely not that kind of help.

My parents bought both my trucks and I did the rest, now I'm back to stock and my sister gets to deal with what I've done to the other one

I got a Scion tC paid off as a graduation gift from my grandparents, which I was very thankful for as it's really helpful to have a reliable car and no car payment when you're getting started on your career and not making much money if any at all. I had to commute a lot back then too since I was freelancing for the most part.

Traded it in years later on this 2004 Tacoma, my grandfather still gives me crap for it. "You traded a 2012 car in on a 2004 truck that you beat the shit out of"...that about sums it up

My cousin's Undergrad degree cost him $130,000 he didn't have. 4 years after graduation he just started a middle of the range Law school program for $60,000 a year (Minus a 15K a year stipend which will basically cover housing).

Hes got the CLKAMGASA Mercedes to fit in with his pre law buddies and is hillariously fun to drink with because hes got Amex funding his weekend jaunts to the fanciest restaurants downtown.

woof. Not gonna lie, my BFA cost about that much but I had help. I'm paying off a solid chunk of it though and that monthly bill hurts like a MF'er. I won't be imposing upon my children the lie that you HAVE to get a degree in something no matter what or you'll end up homeless and working at McDonalds. Not saying its bad to teach your kids to pursue higher education, but there are too many overpriced for-profit schools out there (and banks) making TONS of money off of kids that are going to be saddled with student loan debt that they can't pay off for the rest of their lives. It's nuts

I have friends that ended up with $150k in debt from private bank loans that are going to completely ruin them for life if they don't find some miraculous way to pay it off.

At least government loans have regulations on protecting the person with the loan...private bank loans will ruin you...avoid using those for school at all costs

Cousin wants to be a Lawyer, so he needs a law degree. I get that. He's setting himself up for failure with the subsequent lifestyle (and college choices) he cant afford.

Having no degree limited my options surely. In the private sector I have limited career options. If your degree helps you get you where you want to go, then go for it. If things hadn't worked out for me, I'd spend the money and do Welding/ CNC/ Lineman/ HVAC/ Electrician schools and live a modest life.

Looks good I think, sliders will just bash the pinch weld down anyway if they're mounted well. Mine have clearanced it a lot

A lot of those jobs aren't even in the United States. Travel the world picking up gigs earning a fine living (potentially Tax Free) using your skills. Start a local business hiring local journeymen in your respective country, teach them and have them manage the businesses. Make a easy 20% (again potentially tax free) doing nothing in every country you take up a contract in.

Linemen/ HVAC Experts/ Electricians/ Welders can make $100K in 3 months in Dubai.
