What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

How much did you give for it? I paid 500 for mine with carpeted headliner, interior light, and roof racks, but it was white. Painted it myself for 200

 

Whats the spring rate on those? I think the 887s are 590# theyre just longer springs. If those eibachs are over that, you can expect the ride quality to be less plush

 

Can you tell which tire is my new spare being rotated in for the first time?

So since I evidently need to start planning for a battery purchase, what's the best kind to go with?

 

$180. Carpeted, sliding side windows, sliding and fold-down front window, home-made roof bars (well made actually), flat black. I got some new gasket stuffs for it, I'll paint it satin black, and need to make a fairing of sorts for the front rail of it. It was silver and shows in places where the previous owner likely didn't prep well enough before spraying it black.
I think it was actually for a Ranger or 1st gen Taco. It's a little more narrow and doesn't follow the exact taper of my bed, it's also about 3/4", if that, taller than the cab so it catches air, lost about 2 mpg.
I'd like to somehow rig a 3rd brake light and some side pods for night wheeling, with quick connectors so I can easily remove the top when needed.

That's what I think. Even with fitment/paint issues.
I feel confident I can make it work for my needs. I kinda like the look and the ability to keep things more secure and dry, in spite of the mpg loss. Just weren't any DC trucks around when I was buying, hell, mine was the only used one on any local dealer's lots. Toyota lot didn't even have a single used Tacoma of any year and I didn't care for the face of the 3rd gen at all then.

 

I respect your opinion, but I would have to respectfully disagree with you.

 

How much mpg loss did you experience? You'll learn to love it just for the lockable storage. Mine needs a clutch right now, and it's basically just my storage unit haha. I also don't care for the 3rd gen face lift, but to each is own of course!

 

It just worries me when people say they didn't have any warning signs on the battery, Battery's always give me a least one slow turn over on that first really cold day before going out. And as far as I can tell, my battery is the original in my 13. I am going to ride it out until it gives me the sign.

 

The one in my '13 crapped out on me a week after I bought the truck last year in april ha.. Murphys law holds true my friend.. If you can replace it, I say just go ahead and do it before it leaves you in a pickle

 

That's a bad ass Tacoma. Just curious what do you need the pink bag on your spare tire for?
Pretty sure anything that fits in there can fit in that bed.
