What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I have had 5100's on mine for roughly 18 months. The ride is far superior to the stock Sport shocks. I have the front level at the 0.65 setting. The rears do not lift but are made to work with up to 1" lift.
FWIW shocks alone are regular maintenance items. Not something as drastic as new springs or control arms which still should not void a warranty if properly installed. Now I wouldn't do something like a cmc until the warranty period ends. I already had a 1st and 2nd gen with free frame replacements. Don't think they would have honored that with a cmc done.

I think I'll try them. They may work for some in-the-middle-of-nowhere driving. At $55 it's a low cost investment.

 

I had tried led bulbs in my stock fogs but they, as stated, were very bright and scattered. I had much better driving vision with the stock halogens. Then I replaced fogs with Baja Designs. Now I have great driving vision with those led's in led housings. I felt like the led bulbs alone were a waste of money because all I gained was the yellow color.

 

Got my roof wrapped. I like it. Old lady didn’t understand the want or need.

I don’t get up there much, it’s the most exposed part of the truck to the sun and elements and I like the extra protection.

At some point I’d like to add a roof rack so this would help in the long term

I have Baja Designs Ambers on my list, but I'll probably get the SSO/SOS low profile bumper first. Thanks for your input though - you are right - I'm not looking for just the yellow color. They need to "work" as intended.

 

I have the 17' Sport access cab with a leer top and going over minor speed bumps the rear is bottoming out. So, i was going to go with the 5100, with 888 springs, light racing UCA's and dakar's in the rear. Having the access cab I'm reading its not suggested to have the shocks at the highest setting and better to set them one down.

 

Installed Falken Wildpeaks 265/70/17 and added some raised tailgate letters. Much more to come!

Finally swapped out the leaf springs with Icon RXT springs! No more sagging butt!

Good question! I intend on using a basket / OEM rack combination as well once I purchase the rack. Prefer the look over an integrated roof rack system. Try talking to anyone at RealTruck? Jason at RealTruck seems pretty knowledgeable.

 

I'm looking at my Squadron Sports right now (I'm threatening to get them installed over this upcoming long weekend). People have said "Whoa, these things are bright. Better angle them down a few degrees.", but is this actually possible? From the vids and pics I've seen, it looks like the lights fit somewhat snugly into the bezels. Doesn't look like there's a lot of wiggle room to play with the angle.

 

They aren't street legal lights. Why would an upward angle matter if you aren't using them on the road?

Just says at least 2 lights up front, either white or amber.

They do mention: "(d) A person shall install only head lamps that satisfy United States Department of Transportation regulations..."

I'm not seeing anything that would rule out the use of the BD fogs on the street, except for maybe the requirement that the angle be adjustable. Stock fogs weren't adjustable either, so far as I know.

 

Well I changed out 2 factory windshields in the first 9K Miles. Then put in a aftermarket glass 23K miles ago with no issues since. That aftermarket glass is much stronger apparently.

 

I need to have mine done so I don't have to climb up in the bed a wash/dry/wax it. I saw a shop that does that on my way home from the Toyota service department this morning.

 

Today I replaced the interior bulbs with LEDs (PrecisionLED) and raised the rear of the driver’s seat by 2” (4crawler). Big improvements in brighter, clearer light and seat comfort.

Also went the cheap route by applying a yellow protective laminate (Amazon) to the fog lights to get them to be not white. Appears to work ok.
