I guess I’m SOL since my state adopted most of California’s emission laws, they also do a sniffer test at the end of the tailpipe which is what I’m more concerned about

We already offer ‘cheaper’ options for the 3.5L. This option is meant for guys wanting the best low end torque possible and the absolute best sound possible.

I’ve designed exhaust for Toyota’s for about 15 years. When a guy calls to configure his Tacoma system I’ll recommend what I’d put on my truck. But I will also listen to budget concerns and ultimately simply take the order no matter what it is.

Our newest release is the best way possible to configure an exhaust based on what Toyota has given us to work with.
    The
That said, if it’s out of your budget and you just want better sound with a little better performance we have a bolt on solution that is more in line with the other systems out there.

Pricing seems very reasonable for a full system, especially with all the options.
This is rapidly moving up to the top of my list for my truck. Key for me will be the downtime needed for the mid pipe work.

Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense.

I'm still in for clear of comparison information, esp now that you are bringing up other existing items. Maybe stock and OEM TRD 'catback' (which it ain't) compared to your various options (new and old)?

Also, it might help to know if the stock pipes are alumized or SS. I had assumed alumized?

Finally, going back to my ideal setup, what would the world look like with a bolt up Y pipe, your biggest (quietest) muffler, and an axle dump right after the muffler?

Keith makes sure that anything he recommends to you will pass emission testing in your state. He won’t sell a system that will not.

Okay. And, not a single one confirms what the stockers are, which was my question:

If you’re asking what material the stock exhaust is, it’s aluminized steel. Put a magnet to it and it’s magnetic. Leave it outside for over a year and you won’t see a speck of rust

If that’s the case, @dirtydeeds would the ceramic cats you offer pass a full emissions test in all 50 states? I would assume so if they pass California standards which are the most strict

    Gratzie! That was my guess.

We are pretty solid here for corrosion. In over 20yrs, we never had any problems with corrosion, even plain steel pipes and fasteners. Pretty crazy when you can remove exhaust manifolds just getting on the nuts.

I still don't understand the claim of torque gains when nothing has been dyno tested. 2 trucks have this exhaust and both are different configurations. I mean sure they may sound good but to sell a $1600 system I want proof of gains.

Soon: full armor, roof top tent...

This is where I'm at. I get it, there are multiple configurations. At the minimum, give us dyno testing on one or two variants compared to stock.

    Ok, dumb question....
This truck has 4 cats i know. Are they both in the mid pipe? If i get the mid pipe without cats will i still have 2 cats in the system?

@dirtydeeds, I am not looking for the best performance at this point and really looking for a better y pipe delete option that is CA compliant and allows for better clearance. Can you, do you or will you have a bolt on y pipe replacement for us rock crawling poor folk?

Yes. The first 2 cats are upstream of the mid pipes.
