Just bend over and hope they use 1000 grit instead of 80. Allstate uses 40.

Why use your insurance when it is his fault? That is not how that works

I called them just to let them know. Which I am realizing was the wrong thing to do maybe. Appears that usaa got the wrong impression.

I've used USAA for a long time and they have always done right by me. I have had to pay my deductible before because the other person was trying to fight being at fault. After it was all done they refunded my deductible, it took several months because they had to take it to court. I never had to make any court appearances.

@In4aride Is that the same cross member you were talking about on the Expedition One bumper?

Regardless I am a man of perspective, you thought of something I didn't so I'm going to look into it. This picture of the RCI skids I think is on a second gen, but should still mount the same. Looks to mount into that cross member.

Mobtown has 20% off all their bumpers right now as well, so that makes

    Demello 20% off
    Mobtown 20% off
    Expedition One 20% off

You can cut that entire crossmember off and weld a new one in higher with not too much fabrication. An inactive member I use to wheel with did that.

Also, just tapered the ends on @Night Eagle s truck and plated them. Should fix most of the problem and was an easy project.

No, you should absolutely notify your insurance asap after any accident, at fault or not. Just because the other guy gave you and/or the cops 'proof' of insurance does not mean he was actually insured. Ask me how I know. Wait, don't bother, I'll tell you. Guy that turned left in front of me many years ago down in Denver did exactly that, then it turns out he hadn't paid his premium for a few months so at the time he wasn't covered - ie, an uninsured motorist. Which of course is part of what YOUR premium covers, and unfortunately you do have to pay your deductible when that kicks in.

You should always notify your insurance, because they can get started on handling things if necessary and deal with bullshit so you don't have to. They dealt with the other guy's insurance for me, and they are the ones that went after him for damages - unsuccessfully of course because he was broke, but had they recovered the claim money my deductible would have been refunded to me.

That’s what I was thinking let my insurance handle it for me. Had a much better conversation today on the phone with USAA.

I had to go to arbitration to get my deductible back on an accident I was not going to file on. Officer cited other party at the scene for improper lane change. then someone claiming to be a construction worker gave a statement later in the week that caused the report to be modified and to show I was at fault instead. I had to file a claim pay the deductible and then the insurance companies argued it out. damage was taken into consideration and found that I could not have been at fault I got my deductible back about 4 months later. stupid fucking centennial cops. Colorado law doesnt require a report attempt to find a party at fault. So many fucking problems with CO and accident reports...
