about how much light did you lose from the laminate? i have some yellow laminX for my Rigid fogs but got cold feet thinking I'd lose too much light output.

Yea I have a aftermarket windshield because I read that the OEM is prone to cracks so I just changed it up and hoping for the best.

I can’t quantify what may be lost but it doesn’t appear to be much. I was even contemplating putting another layer on to darken the colour a bit. But I didn’t. Too much messing around according to my wife.

SAE J583 being the front fog lamp standard as noted in your second link. Baja Designs doesn't claim SAE, and specifically notes "Similar to the Squadron Sport, the Squadron-R Sport off-road lights produce 3,150 lumens of pure power to light up the trail on your nighttime off-roading excursions!"

As with all things lighting on TW, @crashnburn80 breaks it down best.
Wide Cornering beam – Baja Designs. The wide cornering pattern is commonly misunderstood. Wide cornering emits light in all directions (horizontal and vertical) in a wide angle, this effectively creates a wall of light which is great for effectively illuminating a wide near field area off road. While the beam width will illuminate the side of the road very well (unlike spot) it will reflect significant light back at the driver in rain/fog/snow/dust and emit massive amounts of glare to oncoming drivers due to lack of cut off and wide vertical projection. The pattern is very distributed making it not ideal for distance projection and will put out less light in the fog area than a dedicated equivalent fog beam. It should be considered for offroad use or high beam use only. Note in the photo, where with all other patterns you cannot see the deck above the garage, these lights cast shadows of the deck railing against the 2nd story and actually illuminate the 3rd story of my house.

Edit: By all means add whatever you like to your truck. It just seems a lot of people don't realize they aren't compliant.

Nice purchase. My neighbor has a Diamondback too. He purchased it over 10 years ago and has only replaced the gasket once. Top quality .....

Welp, I have been educated. That was a very good write up by @crashnburn80.

I did know that these BDs did not have a sharp cut-off, but I thought I would be able to adjust them downwards to somewhat compensate. Currently, I'm not seeing a way of doing that. Having a lot of light reflected back at you in a fog kinda' defeats the purpose of fog lights.

I have them. They don’t really have any cutoff. Meant for use as off-road lights which they excel at. Street use would be pretty blinding to anyone looking your way. You can angle them with the bracket but it doesn’t matter much.

I got them because I wanted some lights for when I’m out and about. I don’t use my fogs in the city, low beams seem sufficient and the city invests more in led streetlights than paving roads.

I guess you just gotta look at what you want your fogs to do for you.

Edit: I think @Rob Daman has a set and in his video he angled his down somewhat. Might try asking him on his setup and how it’s working out for his use.

So, does someone make LED fogs that are for street use?

Today got my blower motor changed due to the recall (had no issues but what the heck), they did the TSB-18-062 for me as requested (def noticed a difference in gear hunting etc on the way home), and a radio update that corrected many issues I was having with Bluetooth (not an update I could apply, had to be dealer done). I have the Entune Premium (I think, not the full glass front top end one).

I try be a good citizen. I wouldn't use anything that would cause anyone else grief.

I don't do off-road and rarely encounter desolate rural roads.

Yeah, but he does OR, too. The way the brackets attach allow for angling downward, but the stock plastic bezel LOOKS like it won't allow for much (can't really tell without trying it for myself).

Today I completed the MavCoat rust prevention. It goes on thin and clear and then dries to a matte finish. It's still a bit tacky, sort of a waxy film. I used 3 & 1/2 cans. I got most everything, and tried to go over welds and key rust spots a couple times. It was in the upper 30's today, so if we get a few warmer days that may help cure the finish. Winter in the midwest...

I have an Icon Stage 4 suspension, so already had the AAL installed in the back. The new RXT leafs probably lifted the back about 1.5 inches, I'd guess? (no specific dimensions) The truck definitely looks better with a little rake, and I'm confident will perform WAY better when loaded down.

Didn't do much with my 3rdGen today......other than run late for work last night and I pushed it......bigtime.

Fueled her up this morning on the way home.

Got nap and then used her as a grilling table to do some high temp burn-off cleaning of my cookers that I'll use for Thanksgiving eats.

Dont remember the exact link but you can just search TRD center cap decals on ebay. There are a few size choices and you can get which you prefer.
