Keep items at back of box

Looking for an easy way to keep items, like boxes, at the back by the tailgate. Some truck beds have slots on the sides to be able to stand a 2x4 or x6 to prevent things from sliding forward.

 

Ratchet straps, pull straps, rope, etc.

 

Do you have the bed d-ring hooks in your bed or the rail mount tie down cleats?

 

They also make bed dividers that go in the side bed rails and you can move it to where you want it

 

Bed divider works fairly well.

There are a few different brands from a few different retailers but they are all the same product made in the same factory in China. Home Depot is the cheapest place I've found this thing. I have 2 and like them very much. Way less time consuming than straps.

 

Yes to D-rings in bed, no to rail mount tie downs. That HD cargo bar is interesting.

 

This is exaclty what you would be looking for.

 

The cargo bar I had on my last truck was a cheap one and kind of flimsy. I bought a hitchmate brand bar for the Taco. It's pretty stout. I am careful installing it, because I think it would be easy to apply enough pressure to damage the bed.

These things are handy, and versatile. They can be repositioned in seconds. Even to another vehicle if you want.

 

plastic crates secured across the back , just inside tailgate. great for grocery bags, stuff like that

 

I use a bar that expands against the bed walls.

 

I made one using a spring loaded shower curtain rod and a can of black spray paint (I'm a cheap bastard). Worked for keeping light stuff from sliding around (on the slick as snot bedliner in the truck I had at the time). Heavier stuff, strap it.
I may invest in something a little fancier (as noted above) for this Taco...

 

I bought one used and it is awesome. My lunchbox/cooler gets pretty gross at work so I keep it in the bed and not in the cab. The divider keeps it from moving and spilling my lunch all over the place.

 

Constant acceleration!!

 

If you don't have a bed mat that is the problem. They stop most sliding problems.
