I rattle canned mine Blue. Paint is holding up good. Only thing I did to prep was wipe down the arm with alcohol and tape off the bushings.

I figured it was already PC'd, so adding a thin coat over that would be fine.

Yea, what I was thinking too. Shouldn't hurt since most rattle can paint will not lift the powder coating.

Just received my JBAs. For the exception of the religious propaganda, the UCAs look awesome. Just need to wait for the Kings and locate an installer. Can't wait. :bananadance:

thanks. Quick question: should i coat UCAs with any additional teflon or paint - just for added protection? i live in So. Fl so i do not have to worry about salt but it does rain quite a bit. Just want these puppies to last.

Bilstein 5100s front/rear, JBA uca’s, falken wildpeak at3w 285/75/16, 16” trd beadlock style wheels, spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers.
Got my alignment done after installing my JBA's hoping it would get rid of the rubbing I have on the cab mount (only at full lock both ways). Now it rubs much less but still rubbing nonetheless. My question is..increasing the caster should do the trick right? Or is a cmc definitely necessary?

Running 5100s all around with ome888 springs and brand new JBA ucas with 285/75/16 falken at3w and trd beadlock style wheels + 1.25 spidertrax.

Just officially joined Tacoma world but spent many weeks lurking in the forums lol

    Thanks in advance guys!

You're already pretty high up there on caster. I would recommend just getting a CMC and never have to worry rubbing it again

CMC is necessary or get rid of the spidertrax

I’d like to get rid of spidertrax but after giving marlin my wheel and tire specs he said I would rub the uca if I didnt get at least a 1.25 spacer. So now instead of rubbing the uca I have rub at full steering wheel lock on my cab mount :(

Anyone running these with 17x9 wheel 4.5 BS and -12mm offset? Running 295/70/17 aggressive MT. They clear my uniball UCAs plenty right now just want to make sure before pulling the trigger. Heard mixed answers on this topic

Mine are an older set with a different bottom spacer and I rub with 33's on 4.5" bs. Others have reported same bs with same and larger tires with no rub. My rub wasn't bad, but annoying.

I’m thinking about putting some suspension on a 2nd gen I just bought. Either some 5100’s or 6112’s. Going back and forth on SPC and JBA for ucas. What made some of you decide either way? Also, with the JBA having set caster and camber, do you need a minimum amount of lift to use them? I’m probably only going to do around 2” at most.

I went with JBA’s because of all the complaints of SPC’s squeaking, the ease of finding ball joints for the JBA, i kinda like the bright red, and they have great articulation. And I don’t believe they have a set caster and camber but i could be wrong.
