After taking my truck to work yesterday and actually parking on level ground, I definitely need new leafs sooner rather than later. My ass end is a good 1”-2” lower than my front. Probably gonna go with HD Dakar’s and add another AAL on top of it for crazy weight carrying capacity, and sell my current Dakar’s to someone with no extra weight for $100. Or maybe if I win the lotto get the deavers expo 3 pack which carries 700+ lbs and costs $1,000 :bananadead:

It’s more fab work than I’m interested in. Would need the 63 kit, 63 leafs, shock relocation and new rear shocks and brake lines. I’m not able to do that fab work myself so I’d need to pay someone, and that’s a lot of money.

Now that you mentioned it you got the wheels turning. I did a rough price guess and if I sell my dakars, B110 shocks, and rear brake lines, I’ll only be about $350 out of pocket. Plus fab work. Need to talk to joe about a price on that one.

Just remember, the 63 swap seems to only be worth it if you run 14"+ shocks out back. I know archives shock relocation kit allows that but the front Ford towers are another option if budget is a concern.

If I was to replace my HD Dakars and wanted to stick with a similar budget/setup/etc, I would get some leaf packs from Joe. 500-600 consistently while providing 2-3 of lift.

    https://thecrippledangler.com/suspension-parts/hd-51-leaf-pack-2005tacoma

TW thread with info and pics of various setups:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/heavy-duty-leaf-packs-for-your-heavy-truck.547497/

Again, I was going to do the swap and decided against because of time and money. If you do the swap, go with a minimum of 14" shocks to yield good flex while maintaining a stock bed setup if don't want to modify or cut into it. I was not aware or there was very limited information/kits to support not having to cut into the bed when I was looking to do the swap. That was another key factor for me.

When it's all said and done, it's your truck and I'm here with a bowl of popcorn along for the ride!

Oh I’ve already decided against it after seeing the fab quote lol but if I were to do it I would’ve done the ford towers and some cheap bilstein 14” shocks!

Anyways, just gonna hop on a Black Friday sale and get some new leafs.

Was it you that was considering hammer hangers? I thought I read somewhere they give 1 inch of lift.

I read through it again...the "revised" 3.5 inch shackle is 3/8inch of lift so barely noticable. I'm starting to look at new springs too. My all pro expos are just about flat unloaded and negative fully stuffed. This is what they look like with a empty bed.

Any armor out back? That looks like it could be due to age or the shackle flip depending on how long you've had it.

I know there's a lot of debate on that topic.

Yup I'm fully loaded. I have only had the flip on for a month or so and have not done any real wheeling. Before the flip when I had the tent on I was riding the bumps most of the time. The all pros are a year old and I was never really impressed with there load carrying but my rig is pretty heavy.
