Yesterday was the first rainy day since I chopped my fenders. I still have the stock air intake and was worried about sucking up water.

Working my way up, I drove through more and more water testing to see how far up towards the air filter box water could get.

I ended up driving through a couple puddles deep enough to launch water out of the wheel wells and send it cascading onto my windshield. I checked the intake and the only water I could find was in the little bowl inside the fender. No water inside, no water draining out of the intake in the engine bay (there are predrilled holes) and the filter was completely dry!

Nothing inside of the intake past the red arrow was wet.

    So far so good

I pulled my intake back through my engine bay, installed I pre filter like this over the tube and popped it back into place.

Used vinyl wrap to tint the side mirror markers and third brake light. The cold didn't help with a steady hand so the cutting was a little rough. I'll remove the mirror cover and make it cleaner if the vinyl doesn't hold up over the winter.

Finally got around to adding some white plexiglass backing to my aluminum light bar cover I water-jetted last month. I like the fact that it defuses the light should I decide to turn it on and only the Toyota shines through.

Discovered a nice oil leak gathering on my skid today. Not sure where it’s coming from yet.

Painted my fogs yellow, inspired by the Subaru rally look... Next up: painting my wheels bronze to complete the look!

Swapped in the TRD Pro exhaust. Love the note. It's exactly what I was looking for! Not too aggressive until I want it to be. Stock DCLB exhaust is available for FREE to anyone willing to pick it up.IMG_20181122_131445.jpg

    Whole lotta stuff
It came out being a little pricier than I had anticipated but it's a full system, here's the rough estimate:
    Air Compressor - $275
    Air tank - $42
Hoses and fittings - Aluminum plate custom cut ($20), M8 nuts and bolts and plethora of rubber washers ($20), 2x Viair leader hose ($20ea), Viair manifold ($20), Air hose accessory kit ($20), brass fittings (3x$5 elbow + $12 viair fit kit + $5 misc = $33), air regulator and gauge ($18), SPod wire adapter ($25), and plus whatever other wiring needed. = $196
    Total roughly represented = $513

There was no welding needed, just some precision cutting for the aluminum plate and holes to bold into the rear seat brackets for Double cab. Everything else I bolted to the plate or rear firewall.
