K so this is driving me crazy .I have a 2018 Tacoma 4x4 auto transmission .The issue I have been having for awhile is a have a slight buzzing in the steering wheel only at 12 o'clock at 2k rpm . I Have taken it in to the dealership twice already for the same thing . The first time tech felt it. He did the update that was suppose to fix the issue . We did a test drive and there was some improvement but buzzing was still there. I waited a bit thinking maybe I'm just sensitive to the buzz .1 month later still there I took it to the dealership again this time the tech said he didn't feel anything .This buzz is starting to drive me crazy .Anyone else had this issue with there 18 Tacoma or am I nuts and sensitive to the buzz . Thinking of going to another dealer to look at it to see what they say . If they say the same .I think ill open a case with Toyota . What's your thoughts guys ???

Thoughts? No one here can help you with this issue. Return to dealer and call corporate.

You say it's a "buzz," which is audible. Then you say "feel it", which is physical. So, are you actually hearing it with your ears or feeling it with your hands?

What exactly was the update? Is there an associated TSB? What was the verbiage in the tech's notes when they tried to fix it the first time?

it was a tsb for the transmission shifting .have no clue why they would think that was the issue . his notes stated that everything seemed normal after update .there way of double checking the truck was going out on the line and seeing if the other trucks are doing the same . I call his bull shit I think the tech had no clue .

Your hands feel it at the proper driving position of 10 and 2?

Or only at 12 (top) as you state?

    Only at 2k?

Agreed, TSB 62-18 doesn't address that issue. Since you say it's a physical vibration on the top of the steering wheel and the TSB he applied only fixes the computer's transmission code. One doesn't have anything to do with the other and you got a bad tech or techs. I'd take it back a 3rd time, go on a test drive with the tech or the service advisor with them driving. Let them know when you feel the vibration when you're touching the steering wheel from your side.

If that doesn't do it, call corporate and open the issue with them.

Obviously a harmonic issue. They check the tightness of your steering wheel?

So update to my stupid buzz .Took the truck to another dealer sat there for 3 hours . They came back said the tech didn't feel a buzz. I was like what the hell .I looked like a crazy person lol . So next step is to open a case with Toyota . For the mean time I stuck a steering wheel cover that helps 10% with this annoyance . I'm hoping it will go away with more millage I put on it . I'm starting to think Toyota tells its tech to tell us that there is no issue since they have no clue what it is.
