I also followed the factory wiring harness with my wires on the outside of the door rather than leaving them hanging loose in the door to eliminate any conflict with the window. Probably used a bit less wire too. I took pictures but seem to have lost them...

What did everyone do with their extra door handle? Worth posting on eBay? Keeping for when rear door handle gets scratched?

Purchased parts. Thank you for the info in this thread. This is money well spent in order to be a gentleman on date nights without fishing for the FOB in my pocket.

Completed. Thanks for all the info here.

You are sooooooo right about the boot to the passenger door. I ended up using a razor blade and piercing an X-shaped hole then using a coat hangar to go through. I separated the tube from the door side so that I could compress it and not have to make the S-curve that it is in naturally.

Turned out well. This needs to be renamed "The Gentleman Mod". It will allow me to be the gentleman on date nights.

Has anyone put keyless entry(or whatever you call this) on a trdsport that doesnt have it? Is it even possible or is it an ecu swap?

I guess I wasn’t aware any TRDs didn’t have it. Must be a Manual Trans? I knew manuals didn’t have push to start but didn’t think about the door lock situation.
I’d suspect it’s more trouble than it is worth.

Just in case some extra pics help. I used 12 gauge solid strand wire as my fish line starting from the cab and pushing into the door. It was fairly quick and easy...maybe dumb luck!IMG_20181029_142041.jpg IMG_20181029_143221.jpg

I guarantee you can do it yourself. It really isn’t hard, just follow the instructions, if you get stuck, I’m happy to give some advice and I’m sure the other members on here will as well.
I know up north if you don’t have a garage it may not be as fun this time of year, but anyone can do this.

My 2019 Pro does not even have this. This is something I end up doing. Great write up.

I'm puzzled why Toyota didn't offer this on the passenger side. I had a 2014 Prius I leased that had it on both doors

It's one of the things i didn't check when purchasing. It wasn't until a week later I got disappointed. I assumed all new vehicles had both. It just doesn't make sense. I was in a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe for 13 years until I picked this up last August.

No worries though. I got this mod done months ago. Where Toyota fails, this community picks up the slack. Ton of good info. Thanks all for making this a great truck.

Will definitely do this mod in the near future. It's almost mandatory for me since I'm often holding my two small kids in my arms. Thank you for posting this!
