There is a coolant passage surrounding the combustion chambers. The rod probably punched a hole through the wall.

Spark plugs from cylinders 1 3 & 5, in that order left to right. I'd expect to see them clean and shiney if there was a head gasket failure.

    IMG_20181122_122422.jpg

    Here's 2 4 & 6

    IMG_20181122_125310.jpg

Doesn't appear to be any head gasket issues.

Bottom of the pan that I drained the residual fluid into. Looks like l struck it rich! Rich with rod bearing failure.

Poor maintenance or run to death that had to have been knocking on your door long before the rod let loose by that time there is no rod bearing left. It's hard to glue an aluminum block back together.

You have a choice stop running it now or send it through the block it's that simple. It will be rebuildable but expensive if you stop now.

Smashed a hole in the timing case that's where your antifreeze in the oil pan came from. The case is where the water pump sends coolant to the block.

But wait! Theres more! What's this poking out below #2? Looks like a piece of another rod?

    IMG_20181122_143708.jpg

Threw my new inspection window on #1, I can see that #2 rod is missing from the crankshaft completely. It must have went and took #1 with it.

In all honesty, except for just the fun of it, there is no point to disassemble and diagnose.

Get a used one. Pull the valve covers and inspect the valve train visually. Gives you an idea of how well it was taken care of. Silicone the area of the timing cover that leaks, and throw it in.

Rinse out the radiator well. Then good to go.

Yeah I'm pretty much done diagnosing at this point, it's done. I just happened to see the other rod when I was crawling around to make sure I had all the wires etc unhooked getting ready to yard it outta there.

I found out a lot of bad shit about this truck AFTER I bought it. If I had known how much shits been replaced and wrecked prior to purchasing it I would have walked. I unfortunately found out it's real history after the fact.
