4x Innovations Roll Cage DOM Kit, Anyone using it?

So I looking to cage my truck. Its a 2000 Access cab. I was wondering if anyone has use the 4x Innovations cage kit and has picture of their install? It comes with all pre-cut and pre-bent DOM tube and then you weld it all together. I have been calling around to shops here and they are wanting a ton of cash to do a cage and they said they would need my truck a for a few weeks. Here is the link.

ha, they welded the cross bar w/ the seats still up.

oops. not that anybody is gonna want to lean againt the tube. cage looks pretty beefy though...

 

I know I saw that too. Hopefully they are better welders then planners haha

Yeah it looks beefy. 120 wall DOM is some tough stuff. I don't know why anyone would ever buy the HREW one. That seems dumb if you did roll and is split on the seam.

 

i say buy it and let me know how it turns out...

 

For that price I may just do that

First I have to fix all of the damn leaks in the truck. A bunch of the gaskets are bad in it and need to be replaced.

 

yeah, i just started leaking something too. parked my truck for a week while i was out of town had had a nice puddle under it when i got back. pretty sure it's oil...

Yeah I need to start posting over there more. I had an account for a year and haven't used it. Plus when I go to sell those FOA's no one here is going to use them and I know I'm going to get tons of PMs asking if they would fit a stock truck.

 

yup, TTORA is def a btter place for LT specific stuff.

Yeah for sure. My old truck wasn't TTORA worthy so I never posted over there

No the Place I go didn't have a bay/lift open so tomorrow I reserved one. Its 10 bucks an hour and you get all of the tools they own and a lift.

 

i dont see how they will even be able to weld half the welds that need to be made. alot of the welds are against the walls of the cab and are impossible to weld. and you're gonna smoke the crap out of your cab and start the headliner on fire. i dont think thats a good idea. maybe a bolt-in design?

 

i think some pieces get welded before they go in the cab and then once inside it's all welded together. i'm sure almost everything has to be taken out too during install

 

Unless you remove your roof you are going to have to weld it together in-truck. In order to get around the top tubes you have to drill holes in the floor where the cage feet will go so you can drop the cage through the floor

 

I was thinking of doing this cage too. I'm not wanting to cut into my dash like my buddy did to his ranger. I still enjoy my defrost and ability to adjust my vents. I'm not planning on racing this truck but good to have something in there. I'd like to do a custom cage to tie into the bedcage and engine cage, but is it really worth it for a 5lug if I don't wanna race this truck? I've help put one of these cages in a baja bug. It's only a 2 day process. Just pick up some extra DOM.

 

Pretty sure you drill the holes in the floor, assemble it all inside the cab but with it sitting low down through the floor, weld all the top stuff then pick it up into position and add the bottom feet to the frame...
