I think toyota is doing the aftermarket world a favor. Hey, build gas cans to bolt somewhere since tacomas have snowmobile sized fuel tanks.

Idiot with an f150 and muds almost lost it twice the other day in front of me and oncoming traffic. Ppl overestimate their skills too often and it's not cool to others on the road. I mean I know I'll break loose at highway speeds in the rain. This idiot was just being dumb and even weaving around others and rabbit starts at every light when it turned green, even with a vehicle in front of him.

Did they find the issue with burping some people were having? Also heard some had issues with overfilling due to something in the tank not triggering pump shutoff

 

True. Spirited driving is fun when you respect the wellbeing of others. Jerks like that should ride the bus.

 

I can attest to this. 5 35s on the truck, plus winch and skids, rear HC bumper, and other mods...

I had short tube headers on with a rich condition due to boost reference dickering around... My fault.

The rich condition eventually killed em and I had the 420 and 430 lights come on.

Well premium or not is not the end of the world. If I had no choice and had to fill 87 I would do so without second thought. The 87 is not a factor until you begin introducing higher boost circumstances, so if you stay outta boost you'll be okay.

I'm sort of glad I have switched over to pavement pounder duties until I get my engine cage. I miss wheeling!

I mean for what it is worth it is almost necessary to have to carry spare gas cans! Being that Toyota is cheaping out on the range capability of these trucks.

 

True. I'm sure they have a reason. Undoubtedly money.

 

Or CAFE weight to fuel economy standards.. possibly? Who knows.

 

I don't know, but one guy said that he only experienced that on certain pumps. I know @HomerTaco recently installed a LRA fuel tank, maybe he can comment on that.

 

Two fill ups and spillage on both. Not sure why...
The 2nd one was not really bad because a was paying very close attention. Still “burped” tho.
Definitely a mystery as to why.

 

I can live with being careful filling up. The extra range would be worth it.

 

Tundra fuel tank mod?

 

It is to me. Got 330 miles and still had 8 gal left when the light came on in the dash.
Game Changer for road trips for me personally.
Granted, my truck is a pig on 35’s with dual cases and a Flippac on the bed...

 

LRA tank is an imported 34gal replacement tank from Australia.

 

Pretty much a year ago, yes. I sold the snout cutter. So, if someone else needs to trim, they’ll need to source one. I still have the modified press tool though. Got a brand new red URD 2.83657547 pulley to sell as well. If’n anybody knows of somebody that might be interested.

And, yeah. I’m excited to be adding more boost. The 2.8 was just a tease.

 

I wonder if we could fit a 05 tundra tank. I believe it’s around 26 gallons, and it’s also a plastic tank like the tacomas (fuel filter built into pump)
