Pfluger Reels with St. Croix Rods make a great matching pair and St. Croix Does have a nice Cyber Monday deal with free shipping for a Rod and Reel Combo with a Daiwa reel at < www.stcroixrods.com >

Shimano stradic is my favorite spinning reel and Abu Garcia revo/shimano curado are my favorite bait casters. G Loomis or St Croix rods, though I'm wanting to try a TFO next. I've got 4-5 of their fly rods and they recently came into the spinning rod market.

Anyone fish in bass kayak tournaments? Hopefully mainly in SC/GA? Been searching and can really only find online tourneys.

Strippers yeah got it we have those here too the only issue is like you mentioned there Spot Jumpers are a huge issue there along with dickheads and I like my fishing to be remote and relaxing in the picture you can see how close the nearest fisherman is to me....:D

If you do FB, there’s a Kayak Bass Fishing FB group that can also give you guidance on tourneys in your area.

I found the KBF FB group, which led me to the Basscasters FB group, which led me to the Hudson Valley Kayak Bass Fishing group.

I’m gonna start doing local tournaments in the Hudson Valley this upcoming 2019 season.

    Ok.

I’ve narrowed down my baitcasting reel brand to Daiwa and Shimano.

I’m liking the Curado K, but would like to look into other models of these two brands.

Any input from you guys would be extremely welcome.

Quality, newer technology, ease of use, look and feel, price, warranty and service after the sale, etc.

    Thanks.

Do you right handed guys use your left hand to reel with a baitcaster?

That’s what I’m used to for both spinning a baitcasting gear.

I have to buy left handed gear for my right handed self.

Thanks! Definitely going to look into this.

I'm pretty new to baitcasting and started with a black max. I love it for cranking. Just got a deal on a Quantum KVD, One Three Origin and another black max. I'm still leaning toward my black though. For the price point it's nice.

I've always heard really good things about Lews though. Dicks has a killer deal on a combo right now too. Where I'm at at least, for black friday.

Edit: I reel right handed for baitcasters and left for spinning.

    Hey Joe,

What 6'8"- 7' St Croix rod series would pair well with the Shimano Curado 201HGK? I found a nice Black Friday deal on this nice reel. Fishing small lakes and ponds. Weedy and structure. Topwater, spinnerbaits, jigs.

Good stuff. I’ve never fished anything but mono. I guess now’s the time to start with new stuff.

I took a leap and went with Kastking braid (from using Power Pro all the time) and couldn’t be happier...quality braid at an excellent price. Compare prices and you’ll see what I mean.

OK. Been on a buying spree.

Curado 201K reel, NRS Chinook PFD, KetchBoard measuring thingy, KastKing Braided line, Blue Sky 360 Angler, E-drive electric motor.

Now I need a CHEAP fishfinder because i'm off my target budget... by a lot! LOL.

Any recommendations from the TW fishing crowd. The plan is to get something to get by, sell it and get a Humminbird Solix 10 SI (dreaming again.)

Or... anyone willing to let a fishfinder go for cheap?
