What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a prinsu rack, qiestion, do I need to remove all the rubber strip on top of the can to install the rack or just some of it?

 

Wait. You need a rivet tool for this mod???

 

You'll have to remove the stripe and drill a hole where the mount points are. I got the following hole saw that worked perfectly to complete the job.

Looks good. I'm thinking about doing the same. Are the nuts there captured so they won't fall off when I pull the bolts out for the install?

YES do not use sheet metal screws or self tappers use the supplied Rivets and use a real good Rivet gun this is not for the weak hands to do. I used a Dewalt Rivet gun I got from Home Depot because the head of the gun turns to any position and this made it so much easier.

Tested the mpg doing 90 / 95 for a couple hours. Still gear hunting between 5th 6th after tranny update but not as bad as before
