    All three are trying to rip you off. Don't fall for their bullshit. Buy somewhere else and be willing to travel a bit. I drove almost 3 hours away, but I saved thousands. None of my "local" dealers would come off MSRP. My area is bad for that and then they wonder why people buy out of the area.

    I agree. I'm traveling about 120 miles away, but it's on the way to where I'm going anyway. (150 mile trip)
    I spoke to them and spelled out what I wanted, a 2018 SR, what I was putting down, and what the interest rate and the payment I'd agree to. Sales woman said "Yes, that's doable for us." We'll see if it really is doable or they say they "misunderstood" me.

    Get it in writing via email etc before going in. If not, they'll deny the phone conversation even happened the moment you walk onto the sales floor.

    Yes, that's what I meant by them "misunderstanding". Still working on that. Still communicating. Only started talking this morning.

    Where do you live George? I had no problem getting dealers to work with me in North Carolina last week.

    Probably too far, but I paid $34,500 for an off road 4x4 DCSB with tech package and bed lights (2018) in Greensboro NC. $36,500 OTD with $1,300 tax, (TN) and 500 docs, and $100 title/tag.

    It has all of the paint protection, toyoguard, lifetime drivetrain warranty, etc also, but I don't give that stuff much value/thought.

    If you have a Costco membership you can find the dealerships that are willing to deal. If not, give me your zip code and I will look them up for your area.

    Hi, I live in NJ and had a very difficult time with the dealerships here. So I ended up buying a Tacoma in Maryland. It cost me 3 hrs of my time and $100 for travel but saved close to $2k. I bought a cement off-road in July.

    Dan,

    Curious as to what dealerships in NC you had success negotiating with? My local dealer ship here in NC didn't seem interested in sourcing a LB for me. They tried hard to sell me the same setup you just bought for a very similar price. Nice deal you got, it took everything I had to walk away. I think I'll regret it if I don't get a long bed. Thanks!

    I went straight to the dealer and requested 15% off MSRP on several remaining 2018 DCSB TRDOR without any options. Puts them between 31.4 and 32.4 (tech). Will report back.

    Was that Hertrich Toyota? Been getting a few emails from them.

    Never mind. I realize they’re in Delaware

    I live in southeast VA and, just like you, I rented a one-way car and got a great deal on my Tacoma in MD. Have traveled 3-4 hours for my last 3 new ones. Don't understand why people overpay at a local dealer. I guess for each one I don't buy there are 3 suckers willing to pay the "no haggle" price and save a few hundred off MSRP. No vehicle is worth paying many hundreds or thousands too much for. It is worth my time to drive to a negotiable dealer. Every time I shop for a new vehicle the first thing I tell them is I am a price only buyer. I don't want free engines for life or free inspections for life. I just want a good deal on a new vehicle. Dealer perks only are good for dealer jerks. I have friends that pay every time they take their vehicle in for free services. Those free inspections come with $20 light bulbs. Those free oil changes come with "dealer recommended" services that you must pay for to maintain the "free" engines for life guarantee.
    2 weeks ago I helped my daughter save an additional $1500 off a new Ford. I got a buy order from a DC dealer, where I have bought new before, and the local Ford dealer dropped their price and their bs dealer excess charges to match the price. That very rarely happens in my area. They usually just scoff at the buy order from dealers outside of our area.

    I bought it at Koons Westminster. I'm happy with the purchase.

    KOONS is my DC connection. I get my first deal there and then try to price match. Hard to beat them for prices and smooth online transactions.

    On 21 Nov 18, I purchased from a local dealer a new Super White 2018 TRD OR 4x4 Auto DCSB w/Tech Pkg, Paint Protection, Pred steps, All Wx Mats, console safe, tint, cable kit and some dealer accessory kit (2 insulated bottles / parts coupons).
    $39,686 MSRP
    $34,164 Discounted Dealer Price
    $ 500 SC Sales Tax
    $ 507 Doc / DMV Fee
    -$1,000 Finance Offer (0% / 36 months + $1000 holiday bonus cash)
    $34,171 Final Price
    I've been looking for a year and that's the best deal I could find/negotiate in the Southeast for a TRD OR 4x4 Auto DCSB.

    Alright, day after Thanksgiving, I have this offer sitting on the table:

    2019 TRD OR DCSB with Tech, running board, all weather mats, mud guard, door edge guard, emblem. I know, some port installed accessories I don't need/want

    Edmunds True Market Value Pricing got invoice at $37k

    Dealer can go $1k below invoice

    Then I get the $1k Toyota Black Friday Rebate ($500 cash back and $500 bonus)

    Therefore the sale price is $35k.

    OTD is $38.8k ($3,800 for TTL as estimated at DMV website)

    Good deal?

    Good deal considering your paying for the add ons. I would push for 34k sale price and walk out and see what they do.

    I think $34k is hard. I've emailed several places and all came back with $1k below invoice. Luckily it is Thanksgiving weekend and Toyota is throwing in the additional $1k. Previous weeks it was $500. So probably consider it as icing on the cake and run with it.
