Ok, ok...maybe I was throwing out a fishing line there. I just love me some overwrought Pro haters.

One is Mid size, the other is Full sized. Now you're moving the goal post of comparing a 1st gen Tacoma. Which, btw is classified as a compact pick up. There hasn't been a compact pick up within the United States since the Ford Ranger (not the new one).

The point is the Tacoma is now almost as big as a full size now, your dimensions clearly show that and my pic shows how much bigger a "midsize" has become from the original Tacoma. The OP is considering the most expensive of the midsize trucks and in addition to spending money to return his 4runner Pro to stock to sell AND modifying the new Tacoma Pro he's into Raptor money spent.

Since its almost as big as a Raptor and in the end his will cost as much as a nearly new one, why not just get Raptor performance instead?

:facepalm:Midsize vs Fullsize. A Raptor isn't a Tacoma, vice versa. I don't think you understand how much bigger a Fullsize feels to drive compared to a Midsize. Two different truck segments. Tacoma:Tundra. Colorado:Silverado. Ranger:F150. Frontier:Titan. There are various reasons why an individual would purchase one over the other. Additionally, in this case. I highly doubt price is a factor.

What makes you think I've never driven a full size?

Like I said in post #45 of this very thread it's his money and my amusement. If it were my money in the amounts that he was looking to spend, I wouldnt look for the most expensive midsize that is smaller and has the same capabilities as lesser models, I would look for larger with more capability.

But hey, keep beating that drum.

In Canada the 2019 Pro goes for $56,435 plus tax, so in BC thats $67,131 with all fees and levies from Toyota - But no insurance yet or extended warranty.
Great looking truck but that is getting way to expensive for what you get.

Omg.....Midsize vs Fullsize. Different use cases. There are pros and cons to owning either. Having a larger truck doesn't automatically equate to everything being superior.......

Which equates to about 50K USD after taxes. Pretty much the same price, just adjusted for Canada's market.

Ha! I’m guilty of the same. From personal experience, it’s easier to cover your total loss in an accident when the MSRP is higher. (Here comes the hate) I had a very nice SC Tundra loaded with mods, etc. it was the SR5 and I had to fight tooth and nail for 5 months to get my total comp of ~65k. Keep your receipts! (My shuttle driver totaled it while moving it down river on one of my drift boat fishing trips) I recently picked up my VDBTRDPRO and am looking to remove the TRD PRO shocks and replace with OME BP-51’s (had them and they worked great on my former ‘14 FJ.). I am also planning on getting gussets (destroyed a spindle on my first FJ off roading in OR) and maybe the CMC too.

3 questions, as this is my first Taco.

    1. Spacers/lift? This would save money and meet the lift aesthetics I like with bigger tires AND use the PRO suspension for 30 - 40k of driving. (I am aware of the potential (slim) dangers but also have a well equipped FJ for the heavy off roading) White Knuckle Off Road Rock Rails

    2. OME BP-51 w/285-75-16, gussets, CMC, White Knuckle Off Road Rock Rails

    3. BDS 6” with Fox set up? gussets, CMC, White Knuckle Off Road Rock Rails

I love the truck interior, stereo, crawl (had before in ‘14 FJ w/BP-51), motor, snorkel, cordless charge, etc... The stance is killing me. I have a 4” with 35’s on my FJ and recently traded my Tundra with 40’s and a Bullet Proof 12”. (Fun but stupid set up! USELESS... it sat it in the driveway more often than not and sucked for any real off roading (COULD NOT FIT IN THE FORESTS OF THE PNW)

Thanks and let the bashing begin!
