    265/70/17 in 4 or 10 ply guys?

Any major difference in ride quality? These tires will be mainly for pavement and the occasional dirt and gravel roads.

    Thanks

I have the 256/75/16 and they do not rub on my truck. The only thing I've noticed is that the extra bit of tire makes the truck feel like it "floats" a bit more on the stock suspension. Do it!

What is the SL rating? I'm new to the whole thing and when i check Their website it just shows me one tire available. Is there somewhere I can look at all of the different ratings?

From the Falken Rep. I have 265/75/16 stock suspension, NO RUB AT ALL! Not even close 16x8 +10 offset 4.5" BS...... I have aired down to 21psi with lots of luck...have 4x4 7-8 rated trails and these are the toughest NON-LT tire i have ever ran...if you are going to hard 4x4...get the LT's...camping, FR. Overland stuff...P265/75/16 fit the bill!

Oh and the same size tire in LT and P, there is an 11lb difference between the two! thats huge, choose wisely!

    Thanks.

I am running a 6112/5160 lift with camburg UCAs. I wanted to keep my flaps on because I hate how my last taco was pitted on the rear flares.

I did swap out my front ones for huskey mud guards. When I go do a serious trail I just take off the front set.

The SL is the load rating and is a 4-ply tire where as the LT is a 10-ply tire. I don't haul heavy loads and don't plan on doing a lot of rock crawling, so the SL will meet my needs and saves a little weight per tire too.

No black friday deals at my local wheel and tire guy. He quoted me $650 out the door (including tax) for a set of Falken Wildpeak AT3 P-rated 265/75/r16 - mounted and balanced. Thoughts?

$367.20 for mine. I have not mounted them yet and depending on how my visit with corporate goes, I may unload them if I don’t keep my truck. If I do they’ll be posted on the BST thread.

I can tell you from experience, that the AT3 is one of the most overlooked, under rated AT tires on the market. They perform amazingly well in almost any situation. Well worth the price.

I got the LTs. I sometimes have to drive into areas after a tornado or other disaster (in addition to wheeling) and having a heavier tire is some comfort. Is it going to save me from a framing nail? probably not, but it does help with sharp debris, glass, and other stuff that is unavoidable while I try to steer around obvious stuff. It does impact my MPG, but so does my RTT and all the gear I tend to have to haul around. In rain and the light icing we have had here recently the tires are a vast improvement over the OEM tires. No noticeable road noise increase, the truck feels a little more attached to the road, and I have had zero traction issues anywhere I've taken them so far.

Ply ratings are not the same anymore...even the load range E tire is probably 3 ply.

As for load ratings, I suspect the SL are rated high enough that they can carry more than the axles are rated to carry... and they should be fine for light off roading...

I run the SL on my Ford, contemplating seeing what they will given me for the factory tires on the Tacoma so i can put Falkens on it soon rather than waiting for the stock tires to wear out.

Can confirm, E is definitely 10 ply. I don’t know why not everyone gets E rated. Regardless of max load, it just gives me peace of mind knowing I have a stronger tire.
