In moderation I should add. Chrome door handles, badges, small accents, etc are fine. When you get into chrome nerf bars or grill guards is when it gets ugly and excessive.

 

hmm was out shopping.. looks like you put it a little too far out.... but as long as it smushed under some of the gasket it shouldnt leak

 

chrome is the devil and should be subject to only emblems and lug nuts

 

Would leaving a car on jackstands and leaving the cruise control say at 30-40 MPH get the emissions/SMOG monitors ready eventually?

I have a 2006 Civic I need to transfer the title for. I don’t want to drive it since it has no insurance. I have a moving permit from the DMV but I’d rather not take it out due to lack of insurance.

unloaded wheels dont act like you think they do. plus unloaded in a FWD car with axles.. the CVs are at an angle for a prolonged time they were never ment to be driven at. so you'll probably hurt the CVs too

nope.. funny thing is with my truck i was fighting it to set monitors... well when i was logging the thing to see if the cats were bad i had it in neutral and was reving it... THE DAMN MONITORS SET... literally watched it set. after 600 miles. it set reving in neutral... how?

 

@what road has you beat there.

 

How long did it take you to get all the monitors ready? Battery is unhooked on this thing so I’d have to get them all set in one day of continuous driving.

 

Usually takes me 50-70 miles to set.

That was my thought after the fact. There is some under the gasket so fingers crossed.

This was pretty easy like you said. I did strip out the bolt that holds the big wiring harness to the VC though. Only was using a ratchet too. Oh well, not too important I guess.

 

It will probably take him a year to find it. You'll end up finding one from a junkyard before he gets around to it. Ask me how I know...
