A couple of years ago I had a woman roll down her window at a stop light one night to tell me that her young son asked, "mommy, is that a Christmas truck?"

I don't get 5 tire rotations. I understand the idea and think it's great extending tread life it just concerns me at some point you are changeing the direction of rotation of the tires. The dealer did that when they did an alignment and those 2 tires developed a wear issue now trying to rectify that. I'd love to have the same tires on the camper and be able to throw those into the rotation as well just not digging the idea of changeing tire rotation direction.

Well if it wears them out faster, all the more reason to jump to 35s :D but that’s why I’m doing a 5 tire. I’m probably not gonna keep the same tire and size, so no sense in keeping a single brand new tire I’ll have no use for.

Oh, I get it and agree it's a really good option. I've just been scared to do it. I keep thinking I'll keep the same size and brand tire so the spare will be good but knowing at some point I'll change and be stuck with one brand new tire. I have thought about trying the Wildpeaks in a 285/75/17 size but these have worked so well I just don't know

Thanks Chris! Yeah but you win on the fuel mileage aspect and sneaking in to those quiet little hidden spots. Haha

Not much to tell. My TRD OR came with the crappy mirror and I wanted the homelink. Ordered an OEM mirror from Bob’s Mirrors, install was a snap. There’s just a single set screw and the wiring harness was tucked under the headliner. The only hitch was getting the cap off the wiring harness, took a minute to figure out. To get to the harness, took out the screw in the overhead light assembly that’s accessed from the rearmost sunglasses holder. Then just yanked the assembly off.

If you have any questions feel free to message me.[/QUOTE]
I have never understood Toyota's thinking here. I had a '13 SR5 and it had some nicer features in it than my '15 TRD Sport. Why would they do that? I miss my thermometer and compass the most. I'm supposed to get temps through the head unit but that only works if you have access to an HD signal and where i live fat chance of that. I like it where I can just look up and see it. I know I can get the display that goes in the sunglass area but a hard pill to swallow paying that price just to see a temperature.

Yeah, I also wish I had the temp display, but I wasn't excited about running wiring through the firewall, up the A-pillar, etc. I can always just pick up my phone and look.

With that big one you can camp even in the winter. I see these guys on here camping in the snow and stuff but that's just not for me. We're just going to stick to warmer weather as we spend most of the time outside anyway. About the only thing we go in the camper for is changeing clothes and sleeping

I "believe" the wireing is there for the temp gauge as well in the headliner but IDk if there is a sensor for temps anywhere

There isn't. The mirror kit includes wiring and a sensor. Too much of a pain in the butt for me.

Yeah, we can do that with the extended season package on it but I still want to build the teardrop I've been planning for a few years also somewhere down the line. Sometimes you just want to get away and just make it simple too.

We have kept the camper fairly simple, like me. I wish I had a shop I could use just to work in I'd build some camping trailers just too sell. It's fun just working on them and makeing stuff. I had an absolute blast with all the modifictions I did to ours this year and getting to fab stuff. It has all worked out well like I planned and is really simple but functional. It's still kinda like camping with a hard sided tent. Too simple for some too fancy for others but just right for us.

Does the one you picked up have temp and compass? I'd like to add this to my truck too.

I didn't get one yet. When I saw the price I backed off. I will eventually but I have other functional things I need to put that money toward first

    A thing or two...
If the tires aren't directional, swapping sides (rotation direction) shouldn't effect wear unless there's something weird with your alignment.
