Took a long time to get this one finished up. But I made my own version of the side mirror lights made famous by @mesojdm Thank you very much for the inspiration. This replaced my old rigid duallys that were mounted on CBI ditch brackets.

The only original part of mine for this mod was designing a grommet to trim out the hole in the plastic mirror cover. I used Autodesk Fusion 360 to make the part and found a guy through 3dhubs to print and send to me. Worked out great. Really pleased with how it all turned out.i used Gorilla super glue gel at the advice of the guy that printed the grommet. He said the TPU material worked great with it. Seems solid so I’m happy.

Here is right after I finished mounting the lights and hole cutting in the cover.

After installing the 3D printed grommet.

Do these throw as much light as regular ditch brackets?

Hard to compare the two. My old ditch lights were a left over pair of duallys that were spot patterns. They threw farther with a very narrow spread. These new ones are a flood pattern and put out more of a “wall” of light. The lumens are less on these new ones so if they were the same pattern, I think the others would have been brighter. But with the angle these are at, the pattern meets up well with the cutoff on my low beams and extends width of the light from the front of the vehicle in a smooth way.

Can you share links to the lights you put in the mirrors?

Ran across this ad on CL today for a practically new set of black with red piping and TRD logo Wet Okole covers off a 2018 Pro for $320. Figure shipping wouldn't be too much. Thought it was a great deal for someone needing covers. I already have Clazzio on mine. Just thought it worth sharing.

Found an ol Chevy Avalanche at a scrapyard today and saw that they have sweet bed tie downs that needed a tiny bit of work to have em fit into a Tacoma. Bit of grinding on the washer of the bed bold and it fits nicely.

Pretty water tight. Still leaks, or at least dribbles down the side in 2 locations for me. Hasn't been an issue though. Only seems to happen in a strong rain when it's sitting still.

Just a heads up, anyone looking for a Plano Sportsmans Locker to stash in their bed Academy Sports and Outdoors has them for $19.99 plus shipping. Shipped to my door for well under ($23.98) $30. Best price I've seen anywhere.

Got the windows tinted. Not sure what the fronts are yet, but tested the rear slide-by and it was 5%.

Installed a bed mat and it is exactly what that slick bed needed! Also installed a TruXedo Lo Pro bed cover that I was lucky enough to inherit from my brother-in-law who is upgrading the bed cover for his Tacoma.

Window tint and plasti-dip for the badges are coming next.
