Beautiful Corrado. But back to tray bike racks, I’m super happy with our 1Up after several years, but I have noticed that it loosens up once soon after I install it. I slide it in, tighten the screw, all seems good. After 20-30 miles, it’s loose (I use a safety strap, an old toeclip strap, not the lightweight Velcro one that cam with it). Once I re-tighten the screw, it will stay secure until I remove it and re-install it, hundreds, sometimes thousands of miles. Anyone else with this issue?

I mounted yakima rails directly to the bed rails of the truck. Had to drill holes and used rivit nuts to mount them. Then just need a low profile tonneau cover that doesn't cover the bed rails. I went with a access cover.

nothing like old skull BMX/Freestyle bikes! these things bring back so many childhood memories. I have a 1984 Diamond Back Pacer 500/Super Viper hanging in my building. It is built up just like an '83 Viper I had as a kid.

This one is 95% original, including grips and tires. I upgraded the brakes and wheels.

Oh man, I have a few more. 2001 Haro Dave Mirra 540, 1996 Torker..just rescued an 86 Predator which I'm going to restore. Hunting for a set of mags for it.

I had a few nice ones as a kid. I'm a little too old for some of the tricks I used to do.

If you ever decide to part with the Viper, hit me up.

NICE! I had an 82 Predator with the mag wheels instead of spoke wheels. mine actually came from the local bike shop with Redline V Bars instead of the stock Predator bars because my Mom bought me and my brother the exact same bike that year and she wanted mine to be different. Damn, I miss that thing. I have contemplated selling the DB before but never really even tried to. it isn't 100% perfect, it is mostly re-pop parts. but the frame/fork/stem/bars and chain ring are original.

The Blood even has the original screw in fork pegs, not easy to come by. Original paint too.

My Pred is the FreeForm EX. I bought one brand new for $225 with my paper route/lawnmowing money. I'd still kill the person who stole it 4 years later.

The current one is a spray bombed mess but all original except tires and grips. Replaced the brake cables and grips in June when I bought it just to ride.

No pressure but if you think of that....

I’m on duty at the firehouse otherwise I’d pitch in and give you guys a pic of my 83 Profile champ frame hanging in my garage. I actually had it stolen from me but caught the jackasses and got it back.

Very nice. I was huge bmx fan growing up. I also had a predator free form ex the baby blue one with the white mags. I sold that to a buddy though. My Profile was definitely my pride and joy. It’s amazing what old school bmx stuff goes for on eBay these days....

Same one I mentioned yup. The one I posted the pic of I'm not sure if it was the bebe blue or white originally..yeah I'm enough of a geek I remember that was their spelling of the colour. The blue on it now looks like it has brush marks in it, ugh. The mags didn't last long, I heard there were issues with stress cracking like I had on that one.

And you're not kidding about the old stuff. Insane. My old Mongoose stem alone that I had as a kid goes for around $250

Profile frame and forks you don’t see very often at all, I’ve seen maybe 2 or 3 and maybe 2 built up Profile bikes. The frame and forks I’ve seen go for 2 grand and for a split second I was tempted to put it up but it didn’t last long. I got way too memories with that bike as a kid. Every time I’m in my garage doing something or just drinking a beer and happen to glance over to where it’s hanging, I just smile as I get a flood of memories that enter my head at once....

One of the great things about living in Santa Cruz is being able to ride from home to many of the local trails. A group of us meet for breakfast about a half mile from my house and then ride locally ... 15-20 miles, 1500-2000 ft of climbing, at least half of the mileage and all of the elevation dirt, maybe 1/3 of that single track. Today I discovered the downside of the urban riding just as I pulled up to the restaurant ... a 2” drywall screw through the tread and out the sidewall. I tried to plug it but even with an automotive plug in the sidewall, it wouldn’t hold. Since I’d have to pull it off the rim to boot it or patch it from the inside, or install a tube, I just pushed it home and swapped on an old Nobby Nic. Knock on wood, but this was my first flat on a tubeless MTB tire in years.

The upside? Weather was a lot warmer for the ride after I got the tire swapped, and the Nobby Nic sure rolls faster than the Minion DHF it replaced.

    BE7460AD-52D6-4F50-838B-E84452BCFBA6.jpg

Brown plug in the tread is a lightweight bike tire plug (it sealed up OK); the black one in the sidewall is a car plug.

The Mike D was all original. I got the Hutch as a frameset and built it up.
