Sounds like some sort of combustion chamber related leak. I can hear the individual cylinders at idle. Check your headers - possibly they are cracked and leaking. My feeling is that would be louder. How many miles on the truck? Would dirty injectors sound like this - struggling to spray?

120k. No power problems and no odd noises once warmed up, headers are not leaking, the injectors were cleaned via MotorVac Carbon Clean. Some of the noise is from the supercharger, it makes some “rattling” at idle.

This took entirely too long. 1124181744.jpg
To anyone wanting to do this, you have to tap into the ground and hot for the dome light, located in the A-Pillar. If you use a chasis ground, it will stay on all the time. I figured this out so you dont have to. Oh, and @BartMaster1234 you need the bezel ring from the 4Runner. The Taco one was too small.

The plug was already there too? I got mine from a 98 too. My 04 had no provisions for it under the dash.

Deep into my steering rack replacement following @timmah's video - I can't get my rag joint onto the new rack. I'm at the point where I might have to pull the rack out again to smack this thing on - bad idea? I'm open to suggestions here

It was on the old rack pretty damn tight as well, took a hammer to break it free.

Lots of dust and custom dents, Check Build
Tap a flat blade screwdriver or something into the tabs where the through bolts goes to expand it slightly. Should slide on without any trouble.

Did that, then tapped it on and off of the old rack repeatedly till it slid smoothly. Thanks! Time to torque everything down

Wow, my taco actually moves like it has a V6 now. This isn't just "butt dyno," this is night and day difference, like +50HP.

    Got a lot done today.
    Cleaned CAI and MAS.
Powerwashed engine bay and under carriage.
    Replaced spark plugs.
And finally got around to getting work done on my front bumper. Almost done. Should wrap it up next weekend.
