Anyone know if adding 3 degree shims will add too much height for my 5160s? Just thought of that

    You're kidding right?
How thick do you think a 3 degree shim is?

Back from the dead? From the pictures it looks like it could add some height and I’ve read the 5160s are already pushing it for Dakars.

Not back from the dead, I just quit investing too much energy in your questions and ridiculous overthinking.

How much articulation do you have now? If too much why did you not select shocks to get the full travel of your leafs?

How much weight in the bed?
Boom.. . here comes another thread.

Marie from HS said the 5160s were fine with the Dakars. And no weight in bed. Bye.

Perhaps, but now you have a nugget of doubt bouncing around in that anal retentive head of yours.

    My work is done here.

And here you are asking now if another 1/3 inch will exceed your rear shocks even if it corrects your vibe issue..... so you dont listen to the experts.

    Good bye jewels

It’s actually a good question if you look at actual pics of the shims and knowing that the Dakars are on the high end of use for my shocks. But I don’t need to explain that to a troll. Go F with someone else old man.

And you keep dealing with those vibes and answers that produce more of your redundant questions.

like jsinnard or not, he's right, he seeded doubt...you're fucked!

Where is the doubt? I was told by Marie at HS that the Dakars and 5160s are not only a popular combo they sell, but also they run with my setup. And weight in the bed? No I don’t plan on having weight in the bed. I had weight (about 2-250 lbs) in that pic but otherwise I don’t plan on running any added weight. So not sure what I should be doubting.

Preload the suspension by adding weight. It might smooth things out for you

It’s a truck; an empty truck at the top of its travel. It rides so much better with a cap on it ;) Let’s see if you can break those fancy leaf springs

Update: got one of my tires balanced better and took the CB drop off. Vibes still there. Put CB drop back in as I feel it can only help. Next up, shims.

I commented on this earlier about the shims. I installed my lift about 2" in the rear with a 3* shim (blindly, didn't measure anything). Have no vibrations. Don't have a CB drop either. I do have a long bed so not sure how much that plays a role, think my angles may be less steep but not 100% sure on that. From what I've read put shim in then adjust cb if needed to fine tune it. I was in the same boat you were, head was spinning with all the info out there

I have the same slotted shims you bought. I got the longer 4" bolts with spacers to go with mine. I have Deaver !0 leaf stack. I can see how the spacer will stack on the pin on the bottom of the bolt and fit between the slot on the shim. My question is, what keeps the shim from slipping out with that wide open slot? Does the slot in the shim butt up tight against the spacer on the bolt?
    Hope that make sense. :fingerscrossed:
