I never liked the two tone look of the TRD off-road wheels. So instead of ditching them, I found dupli-color magnetic gray to be a perfect color match to the factory wheel color. I prepped the wheels and painted them after reading the many great posts on this board. This is three coats of paint and two coats of the clear gloss top coat. I couldn't be happier.

Thanks! Prep was simple but labor intensive. Sanded down using 800 grit all the machined silver flats that would receive paint then masked everything else off. Used rubbing alcohol and a number of microfiber clothes to wipe down all the surfaces to get it all clean. That's about it before hitting them with really thin coats and a half hour or so in between. The dupli-color matched the metallic sparkle so well. These pictures don't really show that detail but it is identical. Pretty great stuff.

Those look good! I wanted to plastidip my wheels but since i've scraped my wheels a few too many times, I fear it would look bad and not touch up well once I do it again.

I plasti dipped my grille because it was fading and getting this gross splotchy look to it, and it's held up great for the 20k miles or so i've driven since.
