I got rear ended today :(

The 3Gs are known to be weak in the rear rails. I've got my fingers crossed that the frame isn't tweaked. What bugs me is the gaps are off on the bumper caps / bed, although looking through old pictures of my truck and doing some reading on the forums it appears that these beds and bumpers can be WAY off, so I think I'm probably okay. I have nine million photos of my truck and I'm comparing tow hitch angles and whatnot.

Regardless, I am NOT happy right now. You honestly cannot even see the damage from more than 5 feet, but it's going to stink because my OEM insurance addendum thing expired in July so I'm going to get aftermarket panels unless I can source some OEM pieces for less than the bodyshop's estimate for replacement pieces or pay the difference. Ugh.

I hope you get an awesome steel bumper for free out of it from insurance and your frame is strong and straight.

The Tennant Sweepers I work on have the same style using NPT 3/8", you can double nut it so the cap fitting is easier to remove.

Wish you the best, my trucks bumper is different from my friends 3G. The mounts are centered and nothing supports the outter bumper caps besides the plastic under frame.

I looked through the steel bumpers and nothing jumped out at me. The majority of them don't have provisions for the BSM and park assist. A high clearance CBI one with a swingout would be awesome and all, but totally pointless for me. Plus, without the front bumper it won't flow for me.

Thanks. I mean, it's black and white in terms of everything, so I'm hoping it's just replace pieces and go. I'm just grumpy because they don't need to use OEM because of the way the rules are in MA (as well as my policy riders).
    Thanks!

That's the same as mine. Best I can tell I need the driver's side cap and under structure and then the plastic center piece. I have been trying to find someone selling a rear bumper locally that I could just bolt on after the body shop verifies everything is intake to save myself a ton of $$$ but I haven't had any luck thusfar.

    Thanks!

Car-part, there is a yard in New Bedford that has a 2016 SR5. I'm am getting the washer bottle assembley out of it this week so I'll let you know if the bumper is on it.

The refs seemed like they were doing everything in their power to keep NY in the game. Lol

Here is all you need to see. Pat's had it 3rd and goal from the Jets 9. This was an overthrown pass to the left to Gronk where he ran the out and up. CLEARLY you can see the illegal hands to the face (that was happening all game and incidentally was called once earlier in the game) How does an NFL ref miss this...His helmet ends up off his head at the end of the play...Carry on...nothing to see here. This would have been an automatic first down. Instead pats hit a FG to make it 13-10

I appreciate it but I don’t believe the SR5 has the sensors. I’ll have to check the site and see what’s local so I can see it in person. Sometimes an ad’s rating of mint condition and mine are wildly different.

It’s been quite here, it’s certainly busier during the work week

Sucks that you got hit. Hope it all works out. On a side note, and I’m not too knowledgeable on this, but I’ve always been under the impression that some reproduction stuff is really good. I think anything CAPA certified is pretty good. I think there’s different levels of certification. You may be able to insist if they don’t use OEM to use a CAPA certified piece. Maybe someone else can chime in. I hope my info isn’t too far off. Again, I’m not too knowledgeable on this. I remember a couple times in the past having collision work done by someone I trust and he talked about this.

No you're spot on. CAPA certified is the higher rating for the aftermarket reproduction parts.

I will say this though. It doesn't mean that they are as good as the factory parts for things like corrosion resistance, durability etc.
