It's pretty much just the torque on the bolts that holds it in place, and the cut ridges that I assume are there to keep it from slipping. I don't think they are going to move.

Why did you need to replace the ECGS bushings.

It’s something a lot do in anticipation of it going bad with a lift. Figured why not and the installer has done it before.

FYI - I put 3-1x2 degree wedges (shims) in today and it got rid of that small vibration I had at take off. The vibration was caused from the 3-1x2" lift I did. Good luck with your truck. Reading your thread helped me out. Thanks

np, if you’re 2” lift in the rear then I’m hopeful!

I am lifted 3-1x2 in rear so I went with 3-1x2 degree shim. I have read a few times 1 degree per 1" of lift. I'm sure you have read that also.
I installed Deaver U402 Expedition II leaves and it gave me a 3-1x2" lift.

Update. Supposed to get shims installed Friday. However, the vibes seem to be diminishing and it’s only when braking where things get gritty from 25-5mph. It’s so minor no one would notice. Still wonder if it’s tire related. I wonder if it’s because my leafs are settling a bit. Anyways I’m starting to wonder if I just wanna live with it. Wonder how much (if any) damage it would be doing.

I've been doing more research on this because I had the carrier bearing spacer installed and I wasn't sure if I needed it.
I've read the proper was to go at this is to do measurements at your transmission and at your axle to see how close to parallel they are and determine what size shim ,if any, you need.
After you get these two right you check your two drive shaft pieces to get them near to the same angle.
You need to check the transmission angle and rear axle angle before you buy any shims or you may be wasting money.
Check with the people you got your leaves from.

UPDATE: Took it in to the 2 ASE cert master techs that installed the lift. They have a lot of experience with lifted trucks, and have done a few tacomas recently. They took it out, test drove it and said they didn't think it was driveline related. I remember reading on here that a way to test if its actual driveline vibes is to take the driveshaft out, then go ride around in 4Hi (essentially making it FWD). Well, they did just that and guess what? Still the same exact vibes. After inspecting everything, re-torquing and greasing... they concluded it was most likely my aggressive duratrac tires. I have had some balance issues with them recently, and in the back of my head I was wondering if it is the tires.

I'm just gonna live with the very minor vibe I have. They looked at everything it could possibly be and I trust their judgement.

Update 2, a good story: so had the truck in today for service and being frustrated with my vibes slowing down from 25-10mph, I had them diagnose it and paid for it. They pulled the driveshaft and drove around in 4Hi and guess what? The problem was completely gone. Yep, second time the driveshaft was removed for testing. I think the guy who pulled it the first time confused my tire vibration with the driveline vibration so he said it was still there. In his defense he didn’t really know the vibes I was directly experiencing.

Anyways, the tech then measures my angles and said I needed 3 degree shims. I could have saved a lot of money and went to have them installed by the same guys who put the lift in but they are an hour away and I figured I was guaranteed things are fixed with the stealership so I pulled the trigger on them doing it. The tech had 3 degree shims on hand and said he could just use the Dakar center pin without new pins or collars. I was and still am a little weary about that, but he said there still was enough bolt head sticking out to sit in the hole on the axle. Not much at all so hoping those u-bolts hold! Wondering if anyone else has put in shims using the stock centerpin and no lengtheners.

Anyways, vibe is now completely gone. 3 degree shims did the trick along with the CB drop. Didn’t want to spend as much, but at least if anything related to this gets messed up, the dealer is responsible and stands by their work.

Finally vibration free... even if it’s all been expensive and a PITA.

Can you take a picture of the shim installed and the carrier bearing so I don't have to ask a bunch of questions Please

BTW - glad you finally got it fixed.

No I've already been down the same road as you. I still have a slight vibration. You said they put in a 3 degree shim for a two inch lift. I'm in no hurry but I want to look at your leaf springs, shim, and carrier bearing to see what you have now.
    thank you

When do you feel the vibe? I have Dakar medium leaf springs (095R), run of the mill 3 degree steel (I think) black painted shims and the OME CB drop.

Will do. Is it bad? Could it be tires or ECGS bushing? Looks like you got a little more lift than me with that pack.
