1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

So my plan to get the stripped front diff plug off is to JB weld one of my 10mm hex sockets to it, you guys think this'll do the trick? I've noticed its leaking a tad from the stripped plug so I think I managed to break it loose a little bit before I stripped it...I was an idiot and didn't clean it out first before attempting to loosen it.

Anyway I think I'd I give the jb weld enough time to dry it'll work

 

I got a front diff you can buy if all else fails lmao

 

When one of the E-Torx bolts on the front diff got stripped, I welded a wrench to it. After I got it broken loose, I cut it off with an angle grinder and took it off by hand.

I don’t think JB weld would be enough to withstand that kind of sideways force.

 

I don't know how I can go from a stripped plug to a ruined diff but I'll be damned if I don't try

 

One of my front bump stops is JB welded on, and its taken a beating.

Supposedly the industrial strength stuff is pretty damn strong

 

You can try. Usually people weld nuts or sockets on there.

 

I don't have a welder or else I would, I can't imagine it'll take much force to break it free since its already leaking a tiny bit

Why on earth does it follow the a pillar all the way up and above the roof line? And the wavy parts to match the curve of the body lines looks awful
