I think most of the people shouting CMC are ones that are going offroad lot. If you are driving around town or to the mall, probably doesn't rub. Maybe just a touch pulling into a driveway or something like that.

For me, I rubbed whenever I turned at full lock going forward and in reverse. This was only exacerbated when off-roading. I had enough of the annoyance and opted to do the CMC. It was a few hours of my time - well worth it.

So this happened:
I love the badgeless look and have done it to all my previous vehicles but I've never had this result.

I used a hairdryer and dental floss, picked away the rest by hand and got the last of the goo off with “goo off automotive”. That left a big smudge that took a while to get rid of and I was left with this. Tried some citrus based cleaner but I could still see it. It was subtle but pretty visible, and made me super mad. But it wasn’t bad enough to really show in a photo. This morning though with some dew on the truck, that’s how it looked.

Haven’t tried buffing. And since I’ve never done that (always had detailers), I was more than a little nervous to side into that.

Any suggestions?

Buffing compound then wax should do it..
