I own a 2018 Tacoma DCLB TRD Sport that is running 285/70/17 Falken Wild Peak AT3's on 17x8.5 Method NV wheels. I also had a leveling kit installed on the front to allow for the 285's.

However, the truck is not level but instead sits nose high with the rear significantly lower.

I do have decent amount of weight in the rear that I need to compensate for with the new rear lift support.

    Current Setup:

    - Snugtop Shell with Frontrunner Slimline Rack
    - Smittybilt RTT (only used when camping)
    - Custom made wood drawer + sleeping platform inside the bed

    IMG_3749.jpg

I would love advice for a good quality but economical solution to finally get my truck level.

I measured the gap between the top of the tire to the bottom of my fenders:

    Front Gap: 7.25 inches
Rear Gap: 4.5 inches (without the RTT)

    Researched Solution:

2.75" Old Man Emu Dakar Leaf Springs

    Thanks in advance.

Ive got a similar setup weight wise and am running the heavy duty Dakar spring pack. I’m running 888 coils in the front which gives about a 2.75” lift and the leaf springs are a 2.5” lift with a 500# static load. The springs are pretty flat fully loaded. I would also recommend upgraded bumpstops so that when you do bottom out it’s not a harsh stop. And you might think about a u bolt flip while you’re at it.

Which rear leaf springs did you get? I'm thinking about the OME 2.75" springs + an add a leaf for the weight pay load. Eventually I'd love to replace the leveling kit on the front with new coilovers and new shocks in the rear.

OME Dakar heavy duty from @HeadStrong Off-Road. This is the link: https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/s...akar_Leaf_Packs_(PAIR)_-_ONLY_LEAF_PACKS.html

Chat with Marie and she can get you all sorted. With the heavy duty pack you should be fine without any additional leaves but you can always add them down the road if needed. For me I’m a little ass high unloaded and then pretty much level fully loaded. Here is a pic fully loaded with 80-90lbs of bikes off the back and 100 lbs of water in the back on top of all the other camping gear.

@tacomarin Great build! Any reason to choose the Bilstein 5100 over the OME shocks?

Can't wait for the Kings and icon guys to get here so I can hear about their $4500 super travel flip flop willy nilly kits with cream joints and heavy booty shocks.

Op I have Ironman foam cell shocks with OME springs. Ironman builds their own off road shocks, OME is an off the shelf Monroe shock.

Thanks! Mostly because I didn't like the yellow and they are cheaper :D. With the Bilsteins you do have the option of lifting using the different notches (via preload on the spring). They also are longer than the OME's which is good and bad. Good if you want more droop, but bad because you need to extend the brake lines in the rear. The OME's are probably a better shock overall though.

I think it's been discussed ad nauseum on the forum. I like the ride of the 5100's and have no complaints at all. I think as soon as people start trying to lift their truck's by preloading the coils (higher notches) they start complaining about the ride quality. In the 0 position they ride perfectly fine but I've never tried the OME's so I have no basis for comparison.

Wow, thank you so much for the info. I have read so many pages about lifting on here trying to make a decision. Are your Bilsteins in the 0 position? If so, how much lift did you get?

Mine are in the 0 position with OME 888 coils, which are the longest coil option. I didn't measure, but for my truck, DCLB 4x4, that is supposed to be 2.75" of lift, which seems about right. I also have the light racing SPC UCA.
