I'm going to say that neither area is a good idea for a wheeling trip. The woods are most likely going to be filled with hunters many of which are drunk red necks with guns.

I would suggest Hardrock ORV park, but that's getting a little extreme for stock folks without armor.

If your truck has Navigation, zoom the map into 300 feet and it'll show the trails at Citrus.

 

Compound in Palm bay is closed from what I've heard. The powerline trail has been graded and the ravines filled in.

 

On another note, I learned a little tidbit from a gentleman I was pointed to on FB. He told me that back when Florida started charging title fees for ORVs (I'm assuming that's bikes, ATVs, Side-by-sides, and whatnot) the plan was to use the money to open 6 off-road parks on state lands in FL, none of which ever happened and the money was reallocated.

Ted and I discussed the possibility if we could get enough of the off-road community together to petition the legislature, we might get them to revisit it. Of course, I'm not a person suited for this kind of organization and I wouldn't have the first idea on how to begin, but I do have an "in" with the Blackwater Jeepers, and it probably wouldn't be hard to touch base with the Tampa Jeep Krewe and the Trail Monkeys or even the Orlando Jeep Club.

 

didn't think of that. ive tried lookin online but nothing really. I'm still not use to nav in the truck. moved from a POS 04 dodge neon to this truck and still learning things with it.

 

id sign it in a heart beat!! offroad areas are starting to become harder and harder to find in some areas. Back in Oregon they made it so ATVs cant run on dirt roads or even offroad in the forest area my father and I hunted.

Talked with my buddy. Since the 3rd guy cant make it, we will prob just go to a place he knows in Palm Bay or Port ST john groves (that's what he called it). one of these days I will make it over there.

 

Canaveral Groves isn't bad. Some of the trails are a little tight, of course those were probably meant for side by sides and I ran my truck through them anyway. If I was off on Friday I'd offer to join.

So found a little mud today. Just a little though

 

I'm definitely slowing down in my advanced age. Last time I dropped the tranny to replace the clutch, I had it sitting on the ground in a few hours. This time, after a few hours work, it's mostly ready to come out, but it's not out yet. It effin' sucks getting old.

Of course, now I have to decide it I want to just move the tranny back and down far enough to replace the throwout bearing or if I want to take it all the way out, spray it down with F88 and pressure wash it then let it dry over night before putting it back in. I don't really have a reason to rush, but I am leaning toward the lazy option of just putting it back in. Of course I also have to try to find that boot for the t-case shifter.

 

I'm curious...why in the world would they make a 24 pack of 7oz bottles of beer? I asked because not knowing such a thing existed, I mistakenly bought one. Must be for people that really realllllly like opening beer bottles.

 

I saw those a little while ago. such a waste. I could understand if they were for like a mix of testers or something..

 

I normally buy 18 packs, although I really did want to buy a case this time, but they were out of the 18s so I saw the box that said 24 on it and I was like, well, I wanted a case...until I got home and realized what I had bought. I guess I ended up with the equivalent of an 18 pack anyway. I'll just have to pour 2 bottles into one glass to get a normal bottle plus 2 oz.

 

Killed some animals this weekend. First deer is mine, 11 point 14.25" spread and 190#s, shot around 130 yards. Second one is my dads, 9 point 19.5" spread, 180#s, show around 30 yards. And a hog he also killed last night
