We bought our house brand new from the builder Standard-Pacific in 2005. The first time we turned on the shower above the kitchen, water started dripping from all the pot lights.

Some dumbass shot a roofing nail through the shower water line.

That was an expensive bill for the builder. New drywall, plumbing, electrical, and joists.

They are excellent for cleaning up gross messes you don’t want your good shop vac doing and throwing it away after you’re done. They’re great lil vacuums for the price.

That’s all they ever will be though. Cheap disposable vacuums.

Gross. There goes any chance of adding any outlets. Mine is finished, but not insulated with an attic on top. Made pulling a 240 volt line easy for a diy project.

It was. The builder paid for it.

This was day three of living in the house after it was competed.

I’m jealous. I had to pay an electrician to wire a 240v drop for my air compressor.

I would’ve done it myself, but I couldn’t shut off the main breaker panel as it was the main service line from the city.

Fun Fact: The only way to shut off the city power is by pulling the main “fuse” which is the round meter itself. In a fire, you yank on it with all your force and it kills the main city service line.

I just was extra careful when playing in the breaker box. Added 2 circuits in the garage so far.

I’m comfortable working on any electrical circuit in the house I can shut off at the sub panel, which is the entire house besides the 240v service at the main panel.

The main panel can’t be shut off. I don’t like toying with my life, so I let someone else do it.

I could’ve done it myself. But I don’t like working on live circuits.

I would’ve done it myself if I could shut the service off. Our 240v service is at the main panel which I couldn’t turn off.

Electrician wired it up with the panel live, which is fine with insulated tools. I just don’t like doing that sort of thing.

You can kill the main breaker, but theres still power coming in from the two hots from the meter. One slip with a screwdriver and your riding the lightning. Regardless, I watched my coworker add/pull circuits in an industrial facility all the time. 480 and 277 were present, and couldnt be turned off without halting production. He'd been hit with 277 in the past so it didn't really phase him to do that on a day to day. I learned a lot about 3 phase power from him, more than Ive learned in my electrical class lol.

I didn’t have the main breaker on my panel so there was no way of shutting it off. Only way was to yank the PG&E meter.

I’ve been shocked by 120v before. Not fun.

AC 225? Thats Archaic for a school to have. Mine had Miller Dynasties, something like 40 of them too. Also got that virtual reality welding program from miller after I left the program.

I need to get my garage insulated and finished. It gets cold as fuck out there and a space heater is futile without any insulation
