I have watched videos on YouTube on brake pad replacement but didn't see any mention of shims. Would I need to replace the shims when doing the brakes for the first time on a 2006?

I've done three pad jobs on the vehicles below and all pads either came with a shim kit, or the shims are built into the pad. Make sure you know what you are getting and don't add shims where they are not needed.

Thanks, I was going to replace the brake pads with OEM, would you know if OEM pads come with a kit or are built into the pads?

Dave, I just talked to the dealership parts department and was informed shims aren't included, so to be safe I will order them too.

That is correct, at least for my wife's 4wd TRD 4-door model.
