Speaking of that, I just pulled off a scope that was on my kids speedmaster today and went back to iron sights. Can actually shoot the thing now, killed that beer can at 40 yards. The kids should learn irons first anyways right!

Right, my old man said if you want one go buy one yourself of his choice. 150 bucks wasnt worth what open sights could do with patience.

My first deer was harvested using a mossy 500 12g with 28" barrel and single beed sight at just under 100yrds. When you're sending 1 1/4oz lead slug down range not much will interfere with it. Even with a bottom of the barrel gun you can still be successful. Mossbergs are like AK's, the sloppier the better. All those operator accessories seen in the movies just gets in the way. I just watched John wick 2 last night and I was surprised to see he had a Glock that was decked out with agency arms mods.

Weight is a sign of reliability... Just like the Ford 7.3 powerstroke. The louder they get, the better they run.

    But I digress.

I'd run them on my 10/22 or something small caliber. When you try to run that clone shit on a bigger caliber gun or run hotter rounds, you soon realize Newton's 3rd law comes into play and you're moa grouping turns into a beach ball grouping.

I had a eotech clone on my old RRA LAR16 and it didnt hold zero for shit. When trying to achieve a 3 shot grouping it was all over the place even when co-whitnessed with the backup iron sights. The iron was steady, just not the Chinese electronics.

Ditch lights in Washington State... Legal, illegal, legalish as long as your not using them on the blacktop?:notsure: Thinking about putting some on my rig, well maybe more than thinking I ordered some.:laser: I was talking to a buddy today about it and he said I was nuts and would be a cop magnet.:smack:

Tons of people run them you’ll be fine as long as you aren’t running them constantly on the road

Never been hassled for mine. Not sure on the legality/rcw regarding aftermarket/accessory lights. I know some states require them to be covered when on the road. Infact I've never been pulled over in my Tacoma even though it stands out like an airflow snorkel. I have loud exhaust, no mud flaps and I occasionally run tires that stick out farther than my fenders. :knockonwood: :fingerscrossed:

Edit: here's SOME info about accessory lighting as defined by the rcw. There's more, but this is a start.

I went down the rabbit hole. There's a lighting drop down at the link, with applicable RCWs linked from there. Already at work, so haven't fully parsed it all out. Ditch lights considered spot lights, and as long as you aren't blinding people they're fine?

Edit: interesting that they specifically state HID conversions are illegal

Yes, Northgate is still open. And after the run.

Gentle massage of the firewall with a bfh is next

I've had zero issues so far with both ditch lights and no mudflaps. Buddy got told to cover them, but he was also running blue marker lights and that was prob larger trigger
